  1. Thanks everyone for their response. I went to the plane the next afternoon after it had warmed up. Charged the battery for a few hours as well and primed for an extra 5 seconds. Plane started up just fine! I will definitely have to get the mags greased. Priming the engine extra and charging the battery also helped. In terms of preheating the engine...can I leave the heater on through the night? Will the engine be damaged if I keep the heater plugged in constantly or should I only heat for a couple of hours before flying? Thanks for all the help as always, MS
  2. Alright guys I need some help with this one. I've attached a video with sound to give you guys an idea of what's happening. Tried to start the plane this morning with no luck. 31°F so I'm not surprised. Cranked for 15-20 seconds with the prop spinning but no start. Tried again, prop spun, but still no luck. Third time the prop wouldn't even spin and the plane just made this whirring noise. Any idea what's making this noise? Thanks, Tahir IMG_7190.MOV
  3. Looking for a 5 amp circuit breaker switch.
  4. Here's a picture of the electrical system in my airplane. However, I think the overall conclusion I understood is that it is possible to do the alerts with words using the PMA450B! 20200918_125131.pdf
  5. This is kind of what I was trying to get at. I appreciate @Vance Harral doing a good job of explaining the functionality of Sonalerts. The reason I brought all this up regarding the PMA450B is because on their website, they talk about what Flightmate can do. http://www.ps-engineering.com/flightmate.shtml "With four discrete inputs, devices such as Sonalerts, engine instruments, or other devices that provide a discrete output when a preset condition has occurred, the pilot will hear in their own words, what the exact nature of the condition is." My question may not have made sense because I didn't understand the entire functionality of Sonalerts. All I read was that you could use a Sonalert to trigger a custom audio message using Flightmate in the PMA450B. Preferably, I would like to be able to do that with the gear. For those familiar with the G1000 system, anytime the throttle is pulled all the way back and the gear is not locked down, then an audible "check gear" warning continuously plays unless you address the warning and turn it off. From my understanding, there is possibly a way to do this with the PMA450B and get that alert through the audio panel. How to actually do this is what I was trying to get to the bottom of before my plane goes in for upgrades. This is a page from the manual that talks about how you can choose to acknowledge certain alerts which can be useful to turn of the alert when the gear is in its respective position.
  6. Does anyone have any personal experience with Sonalerts? The PMA450B can tie to the audio alerts from the Sonalerts and I was looking at replacing the GEAR UP/DOWN lights with Sonalerts to get audio verification. I have never used them but wanted to know if anyone else has and whether or not they liked them.
  7. Any chance you can email this to me? I have a 66E as well and am going in for upgrades in the next few weeks. Would love to be able to play around with some designs beforehand!
  8. I'd be interested in purchasing the FS 210 if we can work out a deal. Located in the Dallas area.
  9. Congrats on the purchase! Now let us spend OP's AMUs
  10. I see a lot of talk about the PMA450B audio panel. Here is a great link that does an in depth review of the audio panel for those that want a deeper understanding of it's features.
  11. This is theft.
  12. I purchased one of these to use in my M20E and have the ipad pro 11. Haven't had any issues with charging yet but I usually don't have the brightness up to 100% regardless. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/anker-roav-roav-smartcharge-vehicle-charger-black/6342758.p?skuId=6342758
  13. Update: Flap issue has been fixed! I ended up taking the plane to Don Maxwell at KGGG (luckily live very close). Here's the logbook entry for those that want to know what was done to repair the flap pump: "Removed flap pump and placed in test stand. Pump inop. Disassembled pump, inspect and reassembled. Pump inop. Tried to blow compressed air into inlet. Appears to be plugged. Disassemble valve body. Wrong spring, too long, installed under suction ball not allowing it to move. Replaced spring and ops check good. Reinstalled pump." It was not a fluid issue or an actuator issue even though we bled the flaps and changed the o-rings in the actuator. In hindsight I probably should have stayed in the pattern for a few touch and goes before departing back. When I arrived home and got into the pattern I realized the flaps were still inoperative and would come up as soon as I lowered them. Had to fly all the way back to KGGG for a quick fix and then departed back home for the second time. You live and you learn. Overall, a great first experience at Maxwell's. Everyone treated us very kindly and best of all my plane is fixed! A huge thank you to @steingarfor pointing us in the right direction and letting us speak to his mechanic who was also very helpful. Thanks to everyone else and @Shadrach for trying to help trouble shoot and give possible solutions!
  14. Don't move at all. It doesn't even fill like it's filling up. Just feels like I'm pumping the level to no end without any resistance. Seems to be the ball issue. I'll post an update of whether or not they work when I get the pump back from it's servicing.
  15. Believe it or not the first time I discovered it was when I was doing my first Solo flight in the Mooney. Holding short of the runway, going through my checklists, and I go to lower the flaps. Flaps wouldn't come down so I checked the little notch to make sure it was down which it was. Tried again and got nothing. Looked outside to check both sides of my wings to see if there was any physical damage done to the flaps and there wasn't any. Then I checked my controls just to be sure they were still free and correct. Made the judgement that I had a 7,000 foot runway and I could take off without them easily and so i did. Got in the pattern and they lowered perfectly fine and that's when I got confused.
  16. From speaking to Bob, LASAR, and Don...it seems to be the ball issue. I'm gonna have it sent out to be repaired within this week and hopefully I can get more details on HOW it was fixed to share with you guys in case anyone has this issue down the road.
  17. well that's not very reassuring lol
  18. Correct. I can not get the flaps to come down on the ground. I can pump away and nothing will happen.
  19. All right guys I need some help here. In my 1966 Mooney M20 E the flap handle pumps but the flaps do not come down when pumping it to set flaps for takeoff on the ground. However, flaps seem to work just fine (for now) in the air when approaching to land. We have replaced the seals, bled the flaps and adjusted the set screw to see if that could fix the problem but nothing worked. Thanks in advance!
  20. I really felt that "duh" moment when I found out about the circuit breaker. How I made it all the way through my commercial multi license is shocking right now considering I didn't even bother to check the circuit breakers. Anyways, as long as I have some sort of light in the cockpit, I'll take it.
  21. Yup that's the one I'm talking about! The left dimmer knob somehow controls both the torpedos and the panel lighting at the same time. The right knob doesn't change anything.
