awesome thanks guys. The guy at brittian said "if you can get it out" that would disengage it and made it sound hard or breakable And I didnt see a nut or screw. Just pull harder was the answer!
-
How do you get the button out of the yoke? My PC wont disengage and it feels like my massey fergusen tractor. I talked to brittain and it looks like it wont be much to fix it but Id like to pull the button to release the vacuum in the mean time.

if this G is in Nebraska get a prebuy. or call me I give you mine for half price

Hi everyone. This has been in process a few weeks and I've already asked a few questions about it but the financing funding just went through and its officially mine now. So I figured I'd say hello 67 M20F Built december of 66. Paint is not great, interior isnt horrible. Panel will get me my IFR rating and thats about all I can ask for at the budget I was working with. Ive been fixing a few squawks the prebuy inspection found while it sits over in Chino waiting for funding. Replaces fuel and oil pressure lines, brake lines, new tire and tube, oversize front whell bushing, intake boot seal, panel mounts, decals and a few other things. I just discoverd I dont have a full shot of the plane so I attached the best I have right now. It badly needs a wash and wax. I hit just a 2' surface of the wing with some wax and it shines up nicely. DOesnt magically fix the chips and scratches though I'm sure Ill have plenty of questions about it! Im going to be doing as much owner assisted things as my IA will let me get away with. My first upgrade will be a cupholder!

its got a bunch of small holes in it in the creases. You cn see them well if you shine a flash light inside it. I heard of using RTV but figured Id just replace it.
-
yea I always just used a bigger hammer on those. But a $264 piece of rubber deserves a little respect.

I got a new boot from SWTA. The new one doesnt come with the metal plates that seal it to the intake and engine. If I was working on my old truck I'd cut the old one up and get the plates and then shove the new rubber thing through. But aviation is expensive and I dont want to mess anything up and that rubber thing feels cheap and papery. so am I being chicken or is there some special way to get the plates on the new one? SWTA says they never come with plates so you guys must have done this before thanks

Brake fluid type and qty 67 M20F
TheTurtle replied to TheTurtle's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Ill have to look around for that. I havent ever done any highpressure hoses. I built all the transmission cooler and fuel lines for my car with AN stuff and stainless hose. Similar? -
Brake fluid type and qty 67 M20F
TheTurtle replied to TheTurtle's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Im not going to bleed them myself. Im working with somebody that has done it. I guess you push fluid up instead of pumping it out? kind of like a motorcycle? I havent done any research on it yet. -
I need to replace a few hoses on an 67 M20F. Heber isnt able to cross ref a couple mooney numbers. I dont really want to go out and pull the hoses to bring to them to match as the plane is an hour drive from me and Id like to do the R&R at one time. Does anybody have a useable part number or the size/fitting type of these hoses: Oil pressure hose MS28741-3-19 #13 Page 159 diagram Page 160 parts Heber says this is a 350-3-0190 they cant match these 2: Fuel pressure hose S111-312f-312-6-18 1/2 #20 Page 155 Diagram Page 156 parts Brake lines SF-111-312-312-4-33 #102 Page 229 Diagram Page 234 Parts

Im going to replace the rubber hoses to the calipers which will probably empty most of the fluid in the process. It looks like I need 5606 type fluid? Like this: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/lgpages/aeroshell_bflu.php?clickkey=4008 Anybody know how much I should buy? 1 quart enough or do I need a few?

its in escrow now so I hope everything works out so I can let you know

Anybody know what this does? I'm in the process of purchasing and wondered what it is. I searched around but dont see exactly that switch. Its in the bottom right in the attached picture.

Any suggestion on where to take a 67 F model for a prebuy? The closer to chino the better. I heard theres an MSC in SD. From what I've seen most shops are booked right now so a Local mechanic with mooney experience would be ok as well. After my mouse in the wings experience on the G model I was looking at Im happy to be looking at one closer to home at least !.

let the owner know I was walking away this AM. so back on the hunt for the elusive sub 40k F/G without a timedout engine. Just a note; the owner called the mechanic first thing and seemed to be upset with his own mechanic as the plane was just out of annual, he wanted it cleaned up by this prebuy mechanic whether I was going to purchase or not. I hope he can get it sold or fly it but I just cant take the gamble. to rich for my blood.
-
disappointing but better than the spar repair I suppose.
-
ok guys do I run away or start beating him down on price. Its at 35k right now. Prebuy found this stuff at first glance. Mouse shit and poison in the left wing. Maybe light corrosion on the spar. Hasnt opened the right wing yet. 1 prop. gov appears to be seeping by control shaft and at parting seams. 2 RH mag has possible leak at magneto case parting seams, indicating that the drive seal is leaking. The magneto would have to be disassemble to verify and this is only a visual observation. 3 LH elevator that has a 3/4-1'' crack in it at the trailing edge I had him stop the prebuy until I talk to my mechanic and get the wisdom of the group.

Id like a ride in a M20G- SoCal
TheTurtle replied to TheTurtle's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Prebuy doesn't happen until the 8th. I'm out of the country right now on vacation so i held off until I got back. If you see the old girl down there grab a couple pics! I dont think the owner is going to ferry it down until thursday. N4141K -
