  1. Just a little follow up on this. After having an avionics guy look at it and mess with the settings, nothing changed. Half way home from LA this morning I looked at my iPad cord and thought hmm. Unplugged it and like magic, all back to normal!
  2. Anyone know the significance of the SQ 250 number? Been having noise issues and would like to adjust it.

  5. I had a cover depart my plane after my annual last year. Not sure if it was on the ground or in the air. I was just happy it didn’t do any damage. Decided not to replace it.
  6. Anyone know why the digital value for EGT might be missing? Should be above the CHT. Just installed yesterday.
  7. I made a cradle that it lays in on the floor behind the front seats. I turn the tank valve on before take off. I drape the hose over the seat so it’s easy to access when I need to. After putting the cannula on I turn the inline regulator on and adjust flow. Pretty easy.
  8. I need to replace a 2 amp circuit breaker. Recommendation on brand or part number?
  9. Well, looks like resetting the breaker is a temporary fix. All all breakers equal or do you recommend anything specific?
  10. I put an appropriate size plastic cup under the filter, then unscrew just enough to get the oil draining. Leave and come back the next day and remove filter and gently extract cup full of oil. Line your firewall with the blue shop paper towels. Take a plastic bag and wrap it around your nose gear and tire. Works every time and no mess!
  11. Just got back from some IFR smoke flying. Our non-towered airport was calling it 5 mile visibility. I didn’t see the runway till about 600 feet and 1.5 miles. Not even close!
  12. If my plane is going to be okay, I wonder if hooking up the O2 would be a plus for my health. Hate the smoke but enjoying the IFR.
  13. Does anyone have any concerns flying while it’s raining ash? Getting some good IFR time but any worries on the mechanical side?
  14. I’m certainly not going off-roading with my plane, so it never gets to dirty. Mostly dust and bugs. Thanks!
  15. Just watched the video. Interesting stuff. So you’re not just smearing the dirt around? Doesn’t scratch the paint? Seems to good to be true.
  16. I’ve washed several times the old fashion way. Looking for something new or better.
  17. Anyone have experience or recommendations on dry washing and waxing their Mooney? I have a 6 month old paint job and want to take good care of it. Thanks!
  18. Got creative today and made a safety wire tool out of one of my drumsticks. Works like a charm for that pesky sump drain plug!

  20. What do you think it means when the gauges go back to normal after resetting the breaker?
  21. The paint shop. I guess I can live with it, as long as it doesn’t get worse.

  23. Anyone know what causes these areas to crack on a fresh paint job? It’s on the cowling. is it avoidable?
