  1. Makes a quick job annoying.
  2. Does the elevator have to come off to inspect the balance?
  3. If you’re on the road a fill of a portable at fbo will run between $20 and $150. Just depends.
  4. I love my aerox system and they respond to email. I’ve had my system for decades and they’ve kept it up. Get fill at subs shop for a fraction of the price of the fbo. Fill tanks make sense if you use a lot
  5. Or check the skin. If it’s beaded you’re good
  6. Isn’t the serial number in the AD for the weight itself? I guess they assume someone maybe have swapped elevators.
  7. Your elevator is beaded not smooth. So you wouldn’t have those weights.
  8. Our local airport manager just decided to ban some aircraft. Just put up a sign. Asked aopa to write a letter opposing. They told me “we don’t get involved in local matters”. Canceled my membership
  9. Why was the F included? Are there any smooth skin F elevators?
  10. When I looked into this a bit ago it seems like the choice was narrow and bright or wide and dim. Has that changed?
  11. Yea so why do some believe this is a sitting plane issue? Sitting for flying wing corrosion happens the same.
  12. I get the effects of an engine sitting but why would a wing corrode from sitting vs flying? The wing isn’t heated in flight to drive out moisture.
  13. When I was doing Cessna deliveries the factory had a new 182 running diesel / jet A. They claimed it was required for the European market. They were in final testing of it. Not sure why they dropped it.
  14. Do you have a reference to the source of your data? In the T206H example neither Cessna nor Lycoming recommend this cool down procedure you're stating. Lycoming says... Engine Shut-Down Procedure. (1) Set propeller at minimum blade angle (high RPM). (2) Idle until there is a decided decrease in cylinder head temperature. (3) Move mixture control to Idle Cut-Off. (4) When engine stops, turn ignition switch off https://www.lycoming.com/sites/default/files/60297-23A.pdf -Robert
  15. You could also try regen’ing the old one.
  16. Ok. In the 22 it says only above 500’.
  17. There is never a time you need to do an auto from a hover other than the 4' hover. Otherwise we do 500' for straight in and 800' for 180's.. At least private through CFI. The biggest issue is that if there is more headwind than you though there isn't much you can do to stretch it. The "50'" tolerance is 360 degrees so its basically 100'. -Robert -Robert
  18. Airplane pilots get 100’ for commercial short field. Helicopter pilots pts is 2 feet. Just saying. ….
  19. I sometimes fly a t206H for an operator that insists on waiting for a certain tit before shutdown. Sitting there idle makes it warmer than landing.
  20. Yea I have a small 12 v pump I carry in the back.
  21. I guess I was fortunate when I bought my Mooney aopa still had a title service
  22. I used to do it pre 911. Just called on the white phone and if they were not too busy they’d buzz us in. Usually on a foggy day with low vis.
  23. When the economy slows down people keep their houses and dump their airplanes. The economy has been strong so airplane prices have risen.
  24. It varies wildly with the amount economy. A small slow down will cause a big price drop.
