  1. I have a '75 "F" in Poplar Grove. C77. You are welcome to take all the measurements you want! I am about 10 minutes away. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  2. I investigated those vents. Although I could see how rain could possibly get in, I saw no tell-tale signs that it actually had.
  3. Not as uncommon as you might think. We had one of our airplanes get cleared for an approach to a closed runway in Flint Michigan very recently. Luckily, the crew realized there was something amiss and went around. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks! It always helps to have an image of the subject being dealt with.
  5. OK. Thanks! The depth and breadth of knowledge of the people on this site never fails to amaze me! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  6. I DID think about that, but I never got around to checking it. I have to access that under the headliner correct?
  7. It's funny you mention the wing root faring. My buddy with a 63C said I should check there as well. I would never have thought of that. Thanks!
  8. During the annual last year, when i pulled the back seats out, there was water. Enough that is was slightly pooled. We tried to trace the origin, but had no luck. I don't know why I didn't think to come here. I don't know if it is wet anymore, but it may be. She sits in the rain when I go to work which is the only time she is outside. I was thinking leaking window, but that was not it. Maybe a skin seam. Nope. There does;t seem to be any tell-tale trails that would indicate running water. The annual is coming up and if I find it wet back there, I would like to have some ideas of where to search. Has anybody had this issue?
  9. Her name is, "Riley Ann."

  12. This is the only place I can find fuses in the ammeter circuit. I don't know where you're seeing a 20 amp fuse at. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. I mean this in the nicest possible way, good luck! It could be anywhere & I do mean anywhere. The easiest way is simply to trace the wire from its origin until you find it. It is a pain in the butt, but really the only way to track it down. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. He can fly GA. He just can't fly for hire Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  15. It sounds to me like an intake leak. Were it me, I would do this... https://www.savvyanalysis.com/articles/in-flight-diagnostics
  16. Pretty sure. No record of it anyway. My sealant is in great shape as far as I can tell.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk There was an change in sealants around our manufacturing timeframe. For what I remember, the sealant the factory was using at the time was not standing up to the 100LL and they placed a protective sealant over the original sealant. If you see a reddish color to your sealant, you probably have what I had. In my case that overcoat sealant was stripping off and making fishing lure worms in my tank. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk It is a reddish color. I remember you talking about the worms and I look for them every time I open the fuel caps. Time will tell I guess. 18. My bladder has been resealed several times. Usually occurs most after drinking too much beer and breaking the seal. [emoji12] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I am going to revive a dead thread here.... i have a seep from the inspection panel on the bottom of the left wing. Has anybody had experience sealing just the inspection panel?
  20. Definitely sounds like reverse polarity. In that case, what he said. ^^^
  21. Sounds like a GS receiver failure. Is it on all freqs or just a couple? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  22. It's $10 now. Might be worth it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  24. You can google "skew-t" learning and there will be several sites pop up. If you are going to OSH'16, Foreflight does a great presentation. VERY informative! My biggest take-away was between 0 and -12c, depending on the chart, you will likely have freezing rain since you need condensation nuclei to create snow. With no contamination, water begins to make crystals (its own nuclei) beginning at -12c. This small tidbit is HUGE. I have paid attention in my professional flying life, and I can predict, about 80% of the time, where the ice will be based on skew-t. Pretty cool for sure! When asked if skew-t was going to be offered in Foreflight, he was evasive. I suspect we will see that in a nearby revision. It's a great tool especially when trying to decide climb through an icing layer or if you will be on top before the freezing level. I hope it comes back soon!!
