  1. Later M20's had the longer rudder that was full span and included an AFT nav light, sometimes strobe. -Matt
  2. This should do it. Stock location, 14V, PAR 46. I have on on the E. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/whelen461l.php -Matt
  3. Sorry TJ, I was not referring to anything spacific about the M20 just some aerodynamic stuff... I corrected my post to reflect the maintenance manual. Overbalance condition is when the Cg of the flight control is in front of the balance point. Under balanced is when the flight control CG is aft of the balance point. There is a range in most cases. Under balanced condition can be less safe than an overbalanced condition as it can leas to flutter if too far aft. Some Maintenance manuals will also show a total max weight of a flight control. Adding weight to the trailing edge will move the CG aft on the flight control. -Matt
  4. Anything can flutter... Just depends on the airspeed. Overbalanced conditions tend to limit flutter, under balanced condition can induce it. The range can be found in the maintenance manual. -Matt
  5. HI 328 Dave! with the top cowl removed fill any daylight areas that you can see by looking in the doghouse frontal area. I've used clear RTV silicone, RED RTV silicone. Depending on how nice you want the application, you could even tape off the area with masking tape then apply, removing the tape just after. For longer runs, alumnium tape works well, but is harder to work with for areas that require removal for MX. Either way, Preventive re-application will be needed after maintenance. It's a constant effort, but hopefully will improve cooling and a bit of speed. There are larger openings near the engine mount that require some attention. Also the area around the starter and ALT can be tricky. I seal the top portion of the dog house to the vertitcal portions with a thin bead of silicone then screw it together. It helps with the vibration, chafing, and cooling drag. It's takes a bit longer to remove but peals off pretty easily.... If it's a THIN bead. I'd like to think it improves airspeed by a knot or two, and I think it improves cooling. However, I have no actual data, other than the fact it trues 160kts+ and I have no tempature problems. If ones having cooling problems, I'd defiantly work on the baffling. Pretty cheap overall, just takes time. -Matt
  6. Might try re racking all the connections. Spray them down with DEOXIT (radio shack). I've had the AP disconnect Switch on the yoke jive me tons of trouble in the past... Hopefully it comes online! -Matt
  7. I've had good luck with bleeding brakes with the gear retracted...bleeding up from Bottom to top. Using a pot with Constant flow and good pressure helps, I'm sure your using somthing acceptable. Good luck. -Matt
  8. It's a quality of life thing with the AC. Especially in the summer in the desert/south. Took a T182 with AC from SMO to DTN in late June this year! All I can say was it was really cool! However, The thing was a tank with high DA out of PHX. And that was only with two people! If I lived in Louisiana I'd modify the E with AC. -Matt
  9. Yes Sir! I think mooney installed it before the wing was rivet together. Lol. Long extensions with some tight seal and fuel lube on your finger to get them threaded.
  10. Check this link out DC! Lots of great info about the M20's from MAPA. http://72.10.105.106/tms/misc/MAPAMooneyManual.pdf Best, -Matt
  11. There is an updated oil pressure spring. I bought it for the Bravo I used to maintain. The spring rate is different. I purchased it thru TopGun CA as they led me to the Fix. -Matt
  12. Never seen that placard either...but good stuff. My guess is it's not a required one in the POH. I would refrance the POH for the numbers it lists, and then during your training try and see what your numbers in question are. Each airplane will be slightly different. Enjoy your airplane, all the hard work will soon pay off... Right after the mains kiss the ground again!! Nice Work! -Matt
  13. I replaced mine with the new sonolert from lasar. For some reason, Turns out there was too much of an Amprage draw in the old switch in the wing to really make it work. I went back to the old boat anchor and it worked fine. (Mine had an issue with the gear warning portion)You might have some corrosion in the switch that's keeping it on. The new sonolert will take less power to run most likely. Also, the new gear laser sonolert is really week to hear in the cockpit...but Better than an INOP one from 1964. Matt
  14. Thanks for the Yoke decal Pete!!

Not too many pics of Insight's G series in action. Im really happy with the G1. Less than 1k AMU installed for a NEW instrument! I was surprised I can get it to run well 40LOP. A little more tweaking and i think i can get them to even out
