  1. Funny my first flight after getiing my PPL was to Telluride in a 182 I purchased. I was mentally prepared for the 150 to 200 FPM climb out just not the signifcantly longer roll. I was saying the same thing you where:)
  2. Yes you can, that's what flaps do!
  3. This actually answered one of my original questions. Tortional vibrationat at low RPM and high MP! http://mooneyspace.com/topic/8833-m20j-prop-vibration/?hl=%2Bprop+%2Bbalancing#entry96170
  4. What does the STC on your turbo say?
  5. Reading through some other threads I learned that 100LL is actually 5.82 Lbs vs the 6 Lbs based off the previous non low lead. That is a little over 12 Lbs of useful load just from using the proper fuel wieght, and yes it does very slightly with temp.
  6. It's great not being lactose intolerant!
  7. As far as air filter I was getting high silica with my oil samples. I checked the induction system and still had high silica on the following sample. I switched from a Bracket filter to a Donaldson and my silica went back down. It also claims a increase in airflow. When I had the filter off I wiped out all the oil residue that coated the intake left behind from the Bracket filters used over the years.
  8. Mine got here yesterday!
  9. They bored my cylinders out to +.010 over. The pictures of the valve where taken through the spark plug hole. It is a little tight but you can maneuver it enough to get all the shots you need. Search Ebay for MD740 dental camera.
  10. New Cylinders arrived and I posted some pictures. http://mooneyspace.com/topic/10433-ly-con-cylinders-arrived/
  11. This is a little follow up from my other post.http://mooneyspace.com/topic/10331-making-aluminum/?hl=%2Bmaking+%2Baluminum My overhauled cylinders from Ly-Con showed up and I thought a few of you would be interested in seeing them. Ly-con claims 4 to 5 additional HP per cylinder with their porting and flow balancing so I thought I would give it a shot. If you look at the intake and exhaust ports you can see the work is amazing. In the photo above you can also see the dental camera that I bought on Ebay to take the following pictures. This is a close up of intake port you can see the nice smooth surface. This is the cylinder wall and top of the piston. The cylinders where not installed so the piston is all the way to the base of the cylinder or you would see more of it. These are a couple of shots of the valves and seats. I was very impressed with the little $79 camera! It fits in pretty tight but I was able to get all the critical views I would want. After I get it all together I will give you all an update on the performance! Karson

  13. I wish I weighed my carpet when I replaced it but I thought mine was lighter. All the old kick panels had that dense cardboard backing and was replace with new kick panels made of corrugated plastic. I don't miss the old stained, rust colored shag carpet.
  14. Just order it, thanks for the suggestion! Are people removing the strobes after they install these?
  15. He's conservative! Many advocate 50 ROP:(
  16. M20turbo described it to me in another thread, maybe he will chime in here. As I understand the letter faces down and at a slight angle toward the deepest part of the solid recess(away from the cooling fins) to help equal the fuel atomization. They will be in diiferent direction Left to rigt side. Interesting because this would create positive pressure on the bleed hole on one side and negative pressure on the other. I will be curious to the responces you get. It would be great if people look at the orientation of their injectors and noted position and which ones had the most blue spray around them.
  17. Interesting just found this on POA about one. http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32272 http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000012717L.html
  18. That wasn't the Snap-On tool poster image I was hoping for with your reply! Then again you might interface with a lot better looking A&P's than we have around here.
  19. Wow, 11 hours seems to go by really fast in that video! Congratulation on making such a long haul!
  20. You need to take advantage of the 60 day 100% satisfaction guarantee for us all and give us a PIREP! You would have the best metrics out of any of us.
  21. Dang.......please tell me she was good looking!
  22. Maybe you need a faux soft top on the plane to make the interior pop like that!
  23. Just got mine dental camera in the mail yesterday. I will try to get a PIREP together.
