Marauder Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 For those of you around the Class B in Philadelphia, there are significant changes to coming to the Class B. http://faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=50141&caller=/SPANS/events/EventList.aspx https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.federalregister.gov/EP31JY12.000/original.gif Quote
carusoam Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 That expands into the N/S corridor to the East. Philly on the west, and Alert area A220 to the East... KVAY will be under the inverted cake. You would think with modern technology, the cakes would be getting smaller... Best regards, -a- Quote

I was made aware of the change a couple of months ago. Still having a hard time with the explanation for the need to expands it. Quote
Alan Fox Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I think the expansion is so aircraft can come straight in to philly , instead of the goofy patterns they use.......I for one will not complain too much , as the heavys usually turn a base over my house about ten miles out.....My home drome will now be under Bravo airspace , so I will have to get clearance to climb out in a southerly / westerly direction.... Marauder Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 There is heavy glider activity at N57, so I expect these guys will have some issues. I'm also trying to understand why there is such a big cut-out for 17N. What is unique about that airport? Quote

201er Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 This is gonna be annoying. At least Philly isn't like Phoenix about denying bravo transitions! Quote
