bd32322 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Are there STC props for the rocket? MT propeller has props for the engine that is used in the rocket but on the cessna 320/414 airframe. It also has props for the m20k airframe but with the tsio360 engine. But it doesnt have a STC for the rocket engine on the m20k airframe. I am guessing there is no way to put a different prop on? Or is there? Quote
Alan Fox Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Call rocket engineering , but probably not....And I dont believe that any prop manufacturer will do the flight testing for a fleet of 100 or so airframes.... Quote
Awful_Charlie Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 I am guessing there is no way to put a different prop on? Or is there? I'm sure if your pockets are deep enough there is Whether you can get a return on value for something which has a cost with lots and lots of 0's at the end is another matter! Quote

David Mazer Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I looked into this a few years ago with Rocket and they advised me that the engine/propeller combination is the STC and there are no alternative propellers available. Has this changed? Maybe but I doubt it. Quote
Cody Stallings Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I'm not sure how the TC or STC reads, does it name the 500 series McCauley only? Because there are a few Hartzells, that go on a RAM conversion..... Quote

Seth Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Didn't a rocket owner put a four blade prop on for a test flight? -Seth Quote
Cody Stallings Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 I'm not sure. MT makes a 4 way prop for the rocket that is STC for it......... The rocket is backwards from any other mooney as far as props go. No other mooney prop will work. Because the rocket prop works backwards. Oil pressure to decrease pitch, not oil to increase pitch like all other mooneys. Quote
davidsguerra Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 if they can put a 4 blade prop on a screaming eagle then it should work on a rocket. i would buy an MT prop if they would make an stc for a rocket. Quote
