Piloto Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I keep getting ants into my hangar after spraying around. Any better suggestions. José Quote
skyking Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Ant traps work for me. try and find where they are getting in and put ant traps around the perimiter of the hanger. Quote
Buster1 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Ants only come in if they have something there to munch on. What are they attracted to in there? Quote
FlyDave Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Go to Home Depot and find a product called "Roach Pruf". You put it in their path, they track it back to the nest and it kills everything in the nest. It works great for roaches and I've used it on ants as well. It only takes a few days - 1 week at the outside. Quote
Jeff_S Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Now, I have to admit, this is one of the most imaginative places to file a "bug report" I have ever heard. I had to wonder whether or not the Original Poster got his dates mixed up and thought yesterday was April 1. Then I realized he was serious. Too bad...wasted an awesome opportunity for a joke! Quote
skyking Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Jeff: Very funny....never looked at it like that! You are right. I wonder what would happen if i but a bug on my bug list for my mechanic...LOL Quote
Piloto Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 Well, I found the ant's nest on a corner of the hangar. I poured one gallon of MEK into it. Instant kill, not a single ant survived the attack. I found MEK to be much more effective than insecticides. When I had roaches I would spray them directly with Ortho or Hot Shot but they kept on running like nothing happen. When I sprayed them with MEK (in an oil squirter) they will flip instanly. Another effective weapon against bugs is an old shoe, but is a little bit messy. José Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Up here in Washington State we do not have ant problems, but I did have a problem in my hangar with bats, and in the fall, some mice. I stuck one of these into an outlet on the back wall, and have not had a problem since. http://atomicpestrepellent.com/?gclid=COqby7Pxn6ACFQP7agodJic0aA They claim it works on insects, but I don't know. I do know that it works on rodents and bats. After the hangar, I got one for my daughters shed. It seemed to work pretty well there, too. RFB Quote
