drpep Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Good Day again Mooney friends... I have a 67E that has a 201 panel and winshield mod. However the plane came with a dash that is somehat reto fitted and doesn't do my interior any justice. My question is are there any 201 dashes that would work for my needs. In my photo gallery are pics (drpep) of the dash if anyone cares to look. Any input would be appreciated drpep Quote
GeorgePerry Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 You can fabricate your own dash pad and have an upholsterer like Airtex cover in approved material for a finished professional look. Start with cardboard and make a template. you'll need to spend some time getting it right - dash pads are three dimensional with curves etc. Once the template is done use it to trace the design on to some 3003H-14 SOFT ALUMINUM SHEET, .020 or .025 thickness. Once you have your aluminum sheet cut to spec, send it out (or have a local shop) cover with a material of your choice. Very easy, and very inexpensive. Probably less than $50 for the whole project. Your local A/P shop can do a 337 if you need one. I did my dash pad this way and I think it turned out alright Quote
drpep Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Posted January 3, 2010 Thanks for that George.. I thought as much maybe there is something in us being on the same name basis as well as the saame wave length. Warm Regards Philip Perry Quote
