NewMoon Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 I'm sure this has been covered before but I couldn't find a thread. Recently bought the plane, previous owner just completed $25k of work on the tks system. I run it every month but the most inboard panel on the pilot side does not drip. All others work great. I did rub it multiple times with a wet cloth covered in tks fluid. What other tricks does the group have? Quote
exM20K Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Lots of good info here you may need to find a shop that has a purge pot. Any big cirrus or Mooney shop should have one. -dan Quote

Fritz1 Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 yep, it is that time of the year, if running an entire tank on high through the system on the ground while squeezing a copious amount of fluid into the non-flowing panel does not fix it a purging pot is required, might be best to contact CAV aerospace to find a shop that has one, nothing but a brake bleeding pot hoked up tho that particular panel, but have to find a panel connector, if you are anywhere close to CAV aerospace, let's say within non stop range the simplest way to fix this might just be going there and let them check out the entire system, most likely the membrane in this panel is just dried out and you need to run and squeeze in lots of fluid to make that panel flow again, then running each pump for 5 min on the ground on high will keep the membrane moist and all panels will kick in with 3 min when you need them Quote

GeeBee Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Try a purge first, if that does not work you may need to connect directly to the panel and do a water purge. Contact CAV for purging instructions. If all the purges fail you will have to replace the panel. I have attached the last purging instructions from CAV I have. TKS Purge 2.pdf Quote
