Hradec Posted April 29, 2024 Report Posted April 29, 2024 Need to replace the bushings on my truss and link. They are worn and will have to go oversize. Anyone know what the alloy number is. I have heard it is bronze aluminum nickel. The bushings that came out are silver. Just not sure of the alloy number so I can have my machine shop ream out the parts and make custom bushings. Thanks Glenn 64 m20e. SN 311 Quote
cliffy Posted April 29, 2024 Report Posted April 29, 2024 Is your plan to sign this off as an OPP part? Might call the factory and see if they have oversize bushings available. They might also be able to provide the material specs. Is the gear leg outer steel hole oversize or just the bolt hole? Quote

Hradec Posted April 29, 2024 Author Report Posted April 29, 2024 Maybe I need to clarify the bushing hole in the landing gear Parts is oversized. Hoping to find the correct bearing alloy Quote
cliffy Posted April 29, 2024 Report Posted April 29, 2024 Do you intend to ream the hole to make it perfectly round for a new bushing? Is there any max oversize limit allowed for that part ? Quote

PT20J Posted April 29, 2024 Report Posted April 29, 2024 I would consult with Frank Crawrord at Mooney to see how the factory would advise making such a repair. He could tell you how much you can ream the leg and you’d have documentation from the factory for the acceptable method of repairing the leg which whoever signs it off might want. The gear legs are heat treated. 2 Quote
Hradec Posted April 29, 2024 Author Report Posted April 29, 2024 Lots of people are doing this repair, just need the alloy number. I will reach out to the people recommended thanks Quote
Shadrach Posted April 29, 2024 Report Posted April 29, 2024 LASAR still has quite a few oversized PMA bushings in stock. I do not understand the challenges with restocking the ones that are out of stock, but you might call them with part numbers at the ready and have easy and inexpensive solutions to several of your issues. https://lasar.com/hardware-bushings 1 Quote
