RoundTwo Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 Surrounding every window opening and also both pieces of windlace is a piece of vinyl channel that is, in my case, beige in color. I’ve looked at the IPC but can’t find it listed. Does anyone have a source for these pieces? Thanks, Chuck Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 I have a sad story about that stuff. I was in the same boat as you. I went to the local auto upholstery shop and found some edge trim that looked great and fit great, but there was some chemical reaction between the plastic interior panels and the plastic used in the edge trim that caused the edge trim to release all its plasticizers (I think that is what happened) so there was all this yucky sticky clear liquid that was oozing from all the trim pieces, not only did it yuck up everything, but it prematurely aged my new plastic panels that I spent days fitting. The new panels are now brittle and cracking where the ooze was. Luckily, mineral spirits cleaned off the ooze. I think I can still use the panels, but there is no edge trim on them now. Quote

It stinks when something like that happens. I’ve reached out to Mooney for assistance. 1 Quote
PT20J Posted August 22, 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2023 Bruce Jaeger sold me some very flexible silicone edge trim that I really like. I had to glue it on with clear RTV. But it doesn’t get hard and shrink. Maybe the new owners of Jaeger Aviation still sell it. Quote
