The wire that goes to that screw terminal is cut. Getting to that wire, which is now shorter, is going to be an unpleasant experience.

There is no ring on the cut wire to go to the screw terminal.

you should go do it for him.

Wait, are you talking about the part that's probably still connected to the plane somewhere?  If so, that wasn't clear at all.

I've spent enough time under my panel to know that working on any of the wires back there sucks, regardless of the length available to work with and even with the access panels on my C.  Just have to suck it up and get after it.  Like most things, once it's done it usually turns out to not be as bad as expected, although every now and again it turns out to be much worse.

Ok. But are there any other places that use that microswitch?

It's highly unlikely to be a gear switch. And if it is I second ArtVandelay's concern, 'make you wonder what else they did'.

You think splicing a wire correctly, behind the panel, with likely less than 2 inches of wire to deal with, in between the engine controls, is going to be a simple task?

i’d LOVE to see you do it.

Well, there are individuals that can do things, and those that just like to watch and criticize.

I’m the first kind, sounds like you’re the second. Good to know your limitations:D

You think my experience in electrical engineering and in building panels and avionics means I watch and criticize?

I’ve done all my own maintenance since I’ve started ownership.

and no, there is no place else that switch would be in a C.
