Reading some email this morning.  Article from Air Facts Journal by Parvez Dara entitled "Safe landings are no accident" made me laugh.  He says:

... many moons ago, flying the M20J model for the first time into Kerrville, Texas, the energy dissipation was less than desired and I accomplished three takeoffs and landings in one fell swoop.  Quite the site for the onlookers, who grimly or delightedly anticipated a nose wheel collapse.  It did not happen and as they say, "I learned from that."
