A couple days ago I decided to check to see if any new updates were in affect and found the flyGarmin app would not open. flyGarmin is the blue box you check before loading the new updates on the SD card. It worked on 12/14 and when digging through Windows I saw a Windows Security updated on 12/16. Of course I was unable to go back to a previous windows version as it had been more than 10 days since Microsoft broke my Garmin. I've uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, swore at the pos, and it's still broke. Event viewer shows a fault every time I try to open it. FlyGarmin does have a computer app that is required for the Mac when an update is available. Does the webpage flygarmin.com open? Quote
PT20J Posted December 27, 2021 Report Posted December 27, 2021 Are you saying you uninstalled "flyGarmin for Windows" and then downloaded and installed "flyGarmin Desktop" from the fly.garmin.com website and it still won't run? Quote

MooneyMike Posted January 4, 2022 Author Report Posted January 4, 2022 I tried every trick I knew to fix this thing to no avail. The event viewer showed some windows updates about the time the thing stopped working but even going into regedit and making changes did not help. Seems the issue was more than just in Garmin's software. Garmin has now released something called Garmin Aviation Database Manager and it is quite different than the previous program.
