After every race she was lifted, stored dry and waxed. It did make a huge difference to their speed, about 0.5 knot which, when you are avg'ing 9.5 into wind most of the time, is a 5.25% increase on speed, which is important over a 48 hour race. Im the one at the front reaching out for the wire. Winchman asked if I had done this before as "I knew what I was doing," "nope just a pilot". Jeez that looked cool! Why did they need to lower that person from the helicopter down? And why do it at full speed? Cool video!

Yuma July, I'd whine too! Didn't know the club car was a Mercedes would've used it and left the rental sitting in the parking lot a couple days just to make the guys think the company paid for the rental on that for me rather than the ford.
