How Many As are still flying? Are there any Eastern Ontario Owners here

I know this question has been asked before but I am very curious... I have a 59 #1221. I am in Canada and wondering if there is other Mooney owners in eastern Ontario

Somebody asked the same question for M18 Mites today...

Then proceeded to look up the answer and posted it.... Something Like 328 between the US and Canada....

Looking things up in the gov records has become a bit easier over the years...

I typically use a book I bought way back in the late 90s... that listed every airframe manufacturing numbers in the US....

It was an annual book about buying used aircraft...

Ottawa area has a number of Mooney’s, not sure about A models though.

According to Transport Canada there are 17 A models in Canada

Steve:  What part of Eastern Ontario are you in?  I live in Ottawa.  There is one other Mooney at Rockcliffe, two in Gatineau and two in Carp.  
 

Two C’s, one E, two J’s and one K.  No A models.

I guess I am the 1st A in Ottawa, I am in Ashton and will be flying out of  Arnprior

That is a neat stat wonder how many are flying regularly

Mooney successfully built composite planes long before the other guys...

Mooney just happened to use nature’s favorite composite materials... in place of carbon fiber, and  Polyester, they used cellulose and lignin... aka wood... 

When an M20A gets properly housed and maintained, it can live an incredibly long life...

Go Mooney!

Steve:

Ashton is halfway between Carp and Smiths Falls.  Good airport in Smiths Falls too.  Potentially lower cost hanger space. If I recall correctly, there were two brothers had a D model located there at one time.

I looked at Smiths Falls but no hanger space there at all. I would like to be there as it is very close...

I agree they are excellent aircraft, I was wondering how long the wood fabric wing would last ? From what I can tell the fabric on the wings of my A is original.

Look for M20A pics around here... there are a few... I Don’t recall how much fabric is in the wings, where it is, or what the maintenance manual says about it...

Work on getting a copy of the MM for your plane... that should be interesting... in a couple of different ways...
