jlunseth Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 Ok you guys, fess up. What worries me about a Bravo is useful load, and payload. So what is your's? Quote
bxg007 Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 My useful load is just over 992 lbs. '91 TLS/Bravo, No TKS. I reclaimed about 12-15 lbs by swapping out original avionics: - ADF - Comm - Trimble GPS - 2nd transponder - RNAV - Audio panel for garmin gps, traffic, weather: - GTN 750 - GMA 35 - GTX 33/ES - GDL69A Quote
Piloto Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 Going on a diet. Aiming to loose 30 pounds and gain some payload. José Quote
carqwik Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 950 lbs...no TKS mostly original stuff except a swap out of the KLN89B for -94. 98 Bravo...full fuel airplane, two people, and bags...and it htis max gross. Quote
Awful_Charlie Posted March 30, 2013 Report Posted March 30, 2013 I'm in a 97/98 model which I got weighed in 2010. Now it's 2426 empty, so 942lbs for fuel, people and junk!. Full TKS fluid takes 58lbs, liferaft & lifejackets another 35lbs, tool box with oil and a spark plug kit/chocks etc is 16lbs, charts/laptop/printer chews another 8. With full fuel (89USG) that takes me to 3077lbs, and 291lbs for two and baggage is a bit tight - hence although I would love to be able to tanker fuel around, it's not really practical for me to look at long range tanks. The diet when I can afford it will be a MT 4 blade for the front (also a bonus over here for the lower noise) which I'm hoping might also mean I can ditch one of the two charlie weights I have in the tail: however I'm not going to spend 10k+ for the sake of 16lbs - I'll get as much as I can out of the existing prop first. KSMooniac Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Getting weight off the nose with the MT prop should pay off nicely since you should be able to get rid of charlie weights as well. It is significantly lighter. (I upgraded to an MT on my J, and the 3-blade MT is lighter than the stock 2-blade McCauley!) Quote
