gacoon Posted April 22, 2020 Report Posted April 22, 2020 I am going to put an RCAllen 2610 in as backup for my Aspen unit. I,m pretty sure the panel tilt is 0 degrees? (required info to order instrument). I have searched here no joy, does anyone know where this is documented or if you have put one in a M20J did you use zero?
carusoam Posted April 22, 2020 Report Posted April 22, 2020 Older Mooneys have a tilt for the lower set of instruments... above the bend is 0°... Now... where to find/confirm that piece of information...? Probably a good question for an avionics MSer... @Baker Avionics Best regards, -a-
PT20J Posted April 23, 2020 Report Posted April 23, 2020 I'd call a couple of avionics shops (more than one to see if they agree). I remember some discussion about it when I had my GTX 345 installed, but I don't remember the answer. Skip
gacoon Posted April 24, 2020 Author Report Posted April 24, 2020 Talked to Don Maxwell today, he confirmed J model panel tilt is 0 degrees. 1
carusoam Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 Great follow-up and reference, gac... Thanks for sharing the detail. It is really tough to measure... as Mooneys use a varying attitude on the ground... depending on what model you have... Of course... if you want to verify the detail... you can test a phone level app... on the seam line on the tail cone and see if the panel is 90° to that... Best regards, -a-
