Does anyone know where the data plate is supposed to be on the Lycoming IO-360-A1A? I think I might be missing mine... there is a rectangular set of holes on the right side of the sump that looks like where it might have been. Sounds like a bigtime paperwork hassle to get a new one.

Seems mine is on the left side, a friend got a new data plate for his Continental 0-200 a few years ago and it was like 50 bucks and not that big of a deal

Mine is on the co-pilot side riveted to the fuel manifold (I think that it what it is) hanging down below the engine. You should know if yours is still there or was removed (?!).

The interesting question is, why is it missing? The data plate defines the engine and its absence brings questions about the engine history. Anyway, FAR 45.13, AC 45-2E, and AC 45-3A are pertinent.

It should be on the right side of the engine below the cylinders, held on with 4 steel drive rivets.
