211º Posted February 10, 2019 Report Posted February 10, 2019 Has anyone else noticed the Foreflight's MOS has the dates jumping around quite a bit? At first, I thought it was just that I needed to reboot my phone's app. Now, I see online that the same thing is happening - instead of showing the MOS at 3-hour intervals, it jumps back and forward in time to show old/out-dated MOS ... and then will jump forward to the correct date. carusoam Posted February 10, 2019 Report Posted February 10, 2019 So I sent them a note.... They replied... -a- Hello, Drew here - Thanks for the PIREP. This is a known issue and we are working to address it. The stale data is being published by the FAA/NWS and will need to be fixed on their end before the data will update in ForeFlight Mobile. Scott Dennstaedt, PhD Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 There was a change of some government URLs are now requiring https vs http. It likely has something to do with that. 2 Quote

Scott - how much information is supposed to be reported on a MOS for an airport that has no weather reporting? Below is the MOS for my home airport. Is this supposed to be a composite of nearby weather reporting stations extrapolated for my airport?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Quote

I bet that it is the extra s in the url as each time it’s wrong, all of the correct digits are there but the wrong day eg 20190120 and 20190201 have the same digits but the order is wrong. kortopates Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) FWIW, Garmin Pilots interface for MOS data is not having a problem, so its definitely on the Foreflight side; probably for exactly the reasons Scott cites above. ah, duh, just saw Chris showed a screen print from GP. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro If there’s no weather reports, you won’t see a MOS forecast. Likely they may be using the nearest MOS for this airport. MOS is more than extrapolation. Here’s a video that explains more about MOS. 2 Quote
