Left main wasnt downlocked (overcentered?) properly and the pushrod failed causing left gear collapse and ran off the runway.  See the thread "insurance company question"

Thats my plane.  If you look at the picture of the tail repair with the plane on jackstands you can see the left main hanging half way down.  That is in the "down" position but not all the way because the pushrod is bent.

Went up for a test flight last week and the prop governor was acting up.  That is out for re-inspection.  Also, the sensors that were running the EDM 700 didnt like the EDM830 so new ones are on the way.  Very very close.

74657- What was the prop gov doing? I just had an engine OH and my gov was basically acting like a constant speed prop by overspeeding in cruise and descents and not being able to control with the prop lever. After trying three different govs the engine was torn back down and we found two dowels that had not been welded closed when the case was overhauled. Basically it was causing a huge interior oil leak and the gov wasn't getting enough oil pressure to work properly. Other than being a PITB it didnt cost me any more money, my shop ate the extra expense, as they should. Works like a charm now.

74657, not sure if the full story was posted elsewhere, but I'm just curious if you knew it wasn't locking or if it was a surprise? Did you have gear down light and mechanical indicator?

Both lights were good.  I had no idea until the plane swerved to the left.  It wasn't a hard landing nor had I experienced any hard landings since owning the airplane.  It really was quite gentle and smooth.  Things started happening in slow motion.......

The engine oil pressure was low and wouldnt cycle the prop until ~2300 RPM vs. 1700 like it should.  The engine guy had to check a seal internally by fabricating a blockoff plate where the governor goes.  Internally everything checked out fine.  No news yet on the findings of the governor tear down/inspection.
