LucasC Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Time to change my ignition harness. Many of the plug wire shields have pulled out of the magneto caps. Wondering which manufacturer you guys have had good luck with? Im looking at either the champion slick harness for bendix mags which says that they dont need elbows or the kelly aerospace harness which has the option of elbows or not. What you think? Quote
Don Heene Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 I replaced mine with Kelly Aerospace from Aircraft Spruce at my last annual. Also overhauled my Bendix Mags at the same time. Works very good no 90 bends. 1 Quote
Hank Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 I used Kelly, and ordered the harness with 90° tips installed. Delivery took a little longer, but it was worth it. The outer insulation was coming apart where the wires bent tomgo onto thr plugs. When I took the old one off, I was shicked to see this under the battery box Here's what it looks like now. Fortunately it's not a difficult job. Despite two magnetos and 8 leads, it was easier than replacing the harness on my Ford Ranger V6--no hidden clamps, pliers not needed to pull leads from the plugs, no scrapes or bruises, no oil and dirt up to bith elbows . . . . 1 Quote

Hank Just found this in my search . I was wondering how the 90 degree elbows fit on the top under the dog house covers. Thanks Mark Quote

jwarren2 Posted October 14, 2024 Report Posted October 14, 2024 I have a question,,,, what is the purpose of the line of silicone running down the length of the scat tubing? Never seen that before. Thanks. Quote

MikeOH Posted October 15, 2024 Report Posted October 15, 2024 Watch the wear on the oil drain back line from the nylon tie-wrap. Quote
