nels Posted October 25, 2017 Report Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) Several times lately I've pulled the mixture to full lean during shut down and the engine continues to run. I assume something is on the edge of adjustment. Any input? 1978 J. Edited October 25, 2017 by nels Quote
peevee Posted October 25, 2017 Report Posted October 25, 2017 Our old 231 did this, some kind of seal the msc kept screwing with and never could get just right. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted October 25, 2017 Report Posted October 25, 2017 See mechanic about mixture control... They have procedures to follow for proper set-up... full out is called idle cut-off... FF is zero at that point... Full in at WOT also has a FF spec that needs to be met. Something isn't right. A mechanic should be able to get it set correctly. If you are hands-on, you can check the far end of the mixture control and see if something is coming apart. Old mixture controls don't fail nicely... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Guest Posted October 25, 2017 Report Posted October 25, 2017 A sticky plunger in the flow divider can cause run on and poor shut down. Clarence Quote
