rbridges Posted August 25, 2017 Report Posted August 25, 2017 I have an EI UBG16 monitor and I noticed a high warning. It turns out the oil pressure was high, super high. In fact it maxed out. The primary gauge shows all green. I'm assuming it's a bad ground or probe but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Im embarrassed to say that I'm not sure where the oil pressure sensor mounts. Is it near the oil temp probe? If it's nothing obvious, I'll have someone look at it. Is it more of an IA or avionics problem? Quote
1964-M20E Posted August 25, 2017 Report Posted August 25, 2017 Like you already suggested get with your favorite local mechanic. The sensors can generally be located anywhere with a hose and clamps and then you will have the fuel pressure sensor that will probably be nearby. Last year I was having issue with my oil pressure sensor it was giving wild readings fluctuating by 30psi or more going to the low side. Talk about give you a heart attack when flying. The new sensor solved the instrumentation issue. Quote
Piloto Posted August 25, 2017 Report Posted August 25, 2017 Check for broken or chafing wires. Clean the connectors with contact cleaner. Check the pressure transduce connections. I have a UBG-16 and very happy with it. Besides CHT/EGT I have fuel flow, voltage and OAT. I opted for the remote indicator to install on the panel far right side. José Quote
rbridges Posted August 26, 2017 Author Report Posted August 26, 2017 I like mine, too. Flying back home, it worked perfect. I'm guessing loose connection. Quote
