Shadrach Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 I have been experimenting with my GoPro 3+ here and there. I have gotten some decent footage, but my editing skills are lacking. Additionally, I would really like opinions on the easiest way to overlay synchronized GPS data (Speed, Altitude, heading, etc). I have searched and come up with nothing. Perhaps I'm using the wrong search terms? Any help/advice would be appreciated. Quote

I like how the Garmin VIRB does this -- builds it into the video. I would reach out to one of the YouTubers like Mr. Aviation 101 and ask how he does it. The stuff I post looks like it was from the silent film era, just with sound. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

gsxrpilot Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 The VIRB is a standalone camera just like the GoPro and needs nothing else. The GPS is built in. Having said that, I only use GoPro's myself. Quote

As gsx pointed it is a standalone but Garmin has done a nice job of integrating it into their other devices and apps. You can control it through Garmin Pilot and the Garmin watch among other things. Oscar Avalle Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Another option would be Final Cut for Apple. Quote
