Parker_Woodruff Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 At Jack Brown's Seaplane Base in Winterhaven, FL. This is way too much fun. Checkride tomorrow. Anyone have a Mooney on Floats? Quote
GeorgePerry Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I got my Sea Plane SE rating at Jack Browns back in 1992. It was absolutely the best, most enjoyable flying I've ever done. Do they still offer a ME program too. I might go back if they do... Quote
skyking Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 PArker: Aint that fun? i had an old 172 on floats for years. I got my float rating years ago. Have not used it for about 10 years but when we had a cottage back in Ontario it was the best way to get there and back for sure. Quote

N57039 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I'm running out of ratings to get. This one has to be next. Have fun on the checkride. Quote
flhelo Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Hey Parker, When you're done, hop down to Bartow and I will show you my ride for work. I would like to here about the Sea plane training. If you decide to, the chopper is parked at the base of the tower and we are in the hanger next to it thru the gate. Would be nice to meet a fellow Mooniac!! Quote

Parker_Woodruff Posted September 6, 2010 Author Report Posted September 6, 2010 Quote: DaV8or When they get one, will you go back and get that rating? I know we talked about it when I was out in Texas. Quote
flight2000 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I'm thinking of going to Sheble Aviation to get the training done. They have the MES training with a Beech 18. That sounds like fun. http://shebleaviation.com/category/seaplane/ Brian Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 A beech 18 has got to be $1000+ an hour! Quote
flight2000 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Just think of the fun factor though.... Brian Quote
DaV8or Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 You proabably could get the MES rating cheap if you could find somebody that does instruction in a Leza Aircam on floats. IMO, that would be pretty fun too! Leza Aircam Quote
hansel Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 http://sierraseaplanes.com/ The cheapest multisea I'm aware of. You'll like California. Quote

Ron McBride Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 This Apache was for sale at Osh this year, Did it sell? They had some maintenance done at Mariposa last year, it is a very unique plane. Ron Quote
