dsking001 Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 I have a KAP-150 autopilot with a GNS 430W and Aspen Evolution. My autopilot tracks the GPS course with about a 1/8 mile offset to the right. When I select the Heading Bug steering source (non-GPSS), the autopilot tracks a couple of degrees right of the commanded heading. Is there a way to adjust or fine tune the KAP-150 autopilot to track course centerline and the heading bug? Thanks Dan Quote

Thanks Dan Good afternoon, On my KAP 100, there is an adjustable "roll neutral" screw next to the "NAV" button. Insert a screwdriver in the "RN" hole and adjust this screw carefully. With the heading bug centered and the plane levelled, engage the AP in HDG mode. The yoke shouldn't move. If you perform this adjustment on the ground, be sure that the surface is levelled. Quote

Danb Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 dan +1 for rocketavaitor...but if you try it on your own know its very sensitive..I did mine yrs ago in the air, picked up a strong VOR signal and slightly adjusted the little screw that G man above mentioned until it stayed on course..Right now my S-tec 55X is doing the same thing but I've been living with it. M016576 Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 Be VERY careful adjusting that pot: it's very delicate- if you press too hard, it's easy to break it off the circuit board. Don't ask me how I know Quote
