mulro767 Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 $250 Total. Well, I already had the Jeep. Spent $90 on the tow bar and $160 to weld a trailer hitch with a cotter pin attachment on the front. Bring on the snow and ice! Ok, hold off another month or two on the snow and ice. But I'm ready. 2 Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 How do you plan to stay within the tow limits? Quote
rainman Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Nice, simple, cheap...works for me, I did similar with my old mower. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 $300.(used) Nosedragger Dragger. Perfect tug for a Mooney. (The 24V battery was shot but I had 2 12V Concordes good enough for this purpose.) Quote
mulro767 Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 How do you plan to stay within the tow limits? I can easily see the tow limits. I trust myself more than your average teenage ramp worker. Quote
Houman Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Did you guys mean the tow limits on the Jeep or on the Mooney... I can understand for the jeep, but is there any tow limits for the Mooney, don't remember that in the POH, is it speed wise for the nose gear ??? Just wondering... Quote
carusoam Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Over turning the nose gear until the tubes crash into each other is the challenge that mooney owners have with new linemen... Small dents lead to an expensive overhaul or replacement... A Jeep is powerful enough to tear the nose wheel clean off... Newer Long Bodies have an indicator and lines to help linemen from over doing things... Best regards, -a- Quote
