  1. Dennis, Signature at OWD is convenient too....right where the rental cars are. However, any FBO there will be fine as it's a small place. Also, BED charges a landing fee wheras OWD does not.
  2. Hey John, how's the "F" project progressing?
  3. Wish I were there! I spent about 50% of my time in China between 08 and 11. Enjoy.
  4. Just starting to explore the possibility of a Bravo. Saw this on Controller..... http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MOONEY-M20M-BRAVO/1990-MOONEY-M20M-BRAVO/1267105.htm I go back and forth between a solid J or something more. A good dilemma to have as we sit through the BLIZZARD.
  5. Great Mike. I am enjoying the Clarity Aloft product as well.
  6. Congrats and I "second" the advice from above. I file IFR 80% of the time just to stay in shape.
  7. At the risk of sounding negative I think there is an opportunity to reflect a bit on how "opinions" of some members come across on this board. The fact that Mcstealth requested "without the scrutiny of the whole board" is telling. Sometimes I see opinions posted in such an arrogant manner that I dont even want to read them. Or sometimes responses take on a flavor of "how stupid are you?" that I would be less inclined to ask for advice in the future. I hope I don't get slammed for this.....because certainly it is not the majority of posts......but I would hope we could share experiences, offer opinions and help people with problems constructively.
  8. I used my new Clarity Aloft set yesterday for about 2.5 hours and was mostly positive. It is amazing how things change based on how you hear noise in the airplane. The in the ear plugs were not a problem at all. Seemed to me that I heard "different" noise than I did with my Bose. Let me be clear...it was different not more. It was nice to not have any discomfort from a headset....although I am not sure I would for 2.5 with my Bose either. The "mic" seemed to be almost in my mouth even with numerous adjustments and the cord going from the back of the head created a different sensation. Again, all in all pleased but I will need to get 5-10 hours of use before I can give an absolute opinion. For what it's worth....
  9. If you could only pick one in 2013 would you choose Oshkosh or Sun 'N Fun?
  10. nice set up.
  11. I agree Oscar, but I have my Garmin Aera on the yoke, so I need to use a kneeboard or some glare shield mount
  12. Even though no one responded, I did get a mini-kneeboard shipped yesterday. I will use tomorrow and give my 2 cents.
  13. Order arrived yesterday, doing an Angel Flight tomorrow from Boston to Philadelphia and back. I will report my impressions no later than Monday. Happy New Year All.
  14. Does Halo have an option other than the foam earplug? That is the one thing I wasn't sure about. The CA's have a rubber type earplug. Not sure which is better.
  15. OK, I ordered the Clarity Aloft yesterday....30 day trial/return policy. Didn't expect to see so much on the Halo! Thanks for the input....I will give my 2 cents when I get them.
  16. Considering a Clarity Aloft headset and wondered if I could get first hand opinions from Mooney folks. Happy Holidays to all!
  17. Has anyone found a kneeboard for the mini? Seems like all my normal sources are out.
  18. I would just like my first Mooney.
  19. Looking for a suggestion for a stop halfway between MB and Naples. Anyone care to share first hand experience of good airport/FBO's?
  20. I have the Aera560 on my yoke and it works fine, but I tend to agree with jlunseth above.....the iPad (and now the iPad-mini) are just great cost-effective options. I love the weather on the 560 and have relied on it in many occasions. If I were making your purchasing decision right now I might opt for the iPad with ADS-B....unless you can get a good deal on an Aera.
  21. Curious as to what folks use as a default altitude on most trips. I know weather etc. plays into decisions, but for the purpose of this post assume everything is pretty neutral. Just curious as to how high most folks like to fly.
  22. If only the pilot were wearing matching Mooney decor!
  23. If you both moved to Boston we would be in business!! LOL
  24. From one of the flying mags.... Apple “turned out a fantastically light and usable device,” said Hilton Goldstein, founder of Hilton Software, the company that developed the WingX Pro 7 app. “I might be going out on a limb here, but I believe iPad mini will be more popular than iPad.” ForeFlight Mobile blogged about the mini during a test flight: “One-handed operation is great for reading, briefing approach plates and even panning sectional charts with one thumb. Also, yoke mounting is now a pleasure.”
