  1. $2217.50 is just ridiculous for a V band clamp.
  2. Anyone know where you can get a new V band clamp?
  3. Actually it's 500' below, 1000' above and 2000' horizontal below 10,000'
  4. The short answer is yes. I have the Monroe speed breaks on my 1981 231. It uses an electric powered hydraulic pump to operate the spoilers. Works flawlessly and a lot less maintenance than the vacuum speed brakes.
  5. Really nasty weather here between Vegas and KWVI. Not going to make it this time.
  6. The A model had a wood wing. The B model was the first to have the metal wing.
  7. I had the same problem when doing a LPV approach. I found you have to go from HDG to approach before you get to FAF in order for the autopilot to capture the glide slope.
  8. My wingtip strobe power supply went out in my 81 231. I found I could replace both wingtip strobes and nav lights with the Whelen Orion 650E LED wingtip position/anti-collision lights for just a little more money than what just one power supply costs.
  9. I vote for Apple Valley (KAPV) or Big Bear (L35) or Flabob (KRIR) or Cable (KCCB) or Chino (KCNO). Chino has a couple of airplane museums, Planes of Fame and Yanks, plus a nice restaurant.
