  1. I used this last product year. http://www.planeplastics.com/accessories/wing-walk-touchup It was easy. I spent more time masking out the area with drop cloths to avoid any over spray issues. I like the results.
  2. Byron, Can you elaborate on why you don't like running the fuel pump on takeoff for a m20C?
  3. Has anyone seen one of these lights on an aircraft? http://www.aveogroup.com/aveo-shop/galactica-c-series/97-red-baron-exp-red.html
  4. Hi, There are pictures and a part number of the fairing on an old thread. Search for "step fairing." Regards, Jared
  5. Openwheeler3, My 65C has two pipes connected to the co-pilots exterior wall intake. One is 2.5" oval that feeds intake air into the mixing box at the co-pilots feet. Another is about 1"-1.25" that feeds the radio cooling plate. There is a valve on the smaller line to meter the flow. The valve is partially hidden by the non-original interior on my plane. Regards, Jared
  6. Hi, Did a previous owner do any of the M20-8,M20-134 or M20-150A modifications? Are you using the http://www.mooney.com/images/pdfs/sb-pdf/sbm20-150A.pdf procedures? Not sure I would want a compass that requires power to work. Regards Jared 65C
  7. Look at the link referenced here for a detailed description on "flying by the numbers": http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?mainaction=posts&forumid=3&threadid=4798#post61711
  8. From out of date parts catalogs. Please double check my answers. Rev June 1977 1969-1975 E models 230015-503 AILERON ASSY, LH 230013-504 AILERON ASSY, RH The part numbers do not match the ones I see for a 66E. Rev July 76 1965-67 M20E C & E model 230015-1 AIL~RON ASSYI L 230015-2 AILERON ASSYI R It looks like they do match a 67 F model 230015-503 AILERON ASSYI L 230015-504 AILERON ASSY1 R Regards, Jared
  9. Does anyone know the MS part numbers for the 457-1015 O&N caps?
  10. I've got a 12/22/99 revision with these headings: 3. TESTING ... 3.3 CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS 3.3.3 at BIENNIAL Interval... So I think that means it is required. I would like the check every 2 years even if it is not required by regulations.
  11. The previous owner complied with AD 99-24-10 by converting a SYSIII to SYS V in April 2008 The valve ICA added 1.5 hours to my last annual. Regards, Jared 65C
  12. See this thread for information on the SB/AD. Factory Response- M20 Empennage Issue http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?mainaction=posts&forumid=1&threadid=4566
  13. Quote: Cruiser Has anyone seen one of these in action? http://www.buy-ei.com/Information/OI%20&%20II%20AV-17.pdf it sounds like it is very capable and provides multiple inputs ties directly to the pilot headset.
  14. MAPA list pointed out the new to me SB from Mooney. I did not know this issue is for all models. "SERVICE BULLETIN M20-313A SUBJECT: Empennage Trim Fitting And Mounting Hardware Inspection ALL Mooney M20B - M20C - M20D , M20E - M20F - M20G - M20J - M20K, M20L, M20M, M20R, M20S, M20TN TIME OF COMPLIANCE: WITHIN NEXT 10 FLIGHT HOURS - UNLESS ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED This is a one time inspection: INTRODUCTION: There have been reports in the field of the trimfiller platemounting (stacked with the trim fitting and trim hinge) positioned incorrectly on theM20J,M20R andM20TNMooney Airplanes. We are issuing this Service Bulletin because we evaluated all the relevant information and determined the unsafe condition described in SBM20-313 (initial release) is likely to exist in other products of the same type design. This will require an inspection and corrective action taken. The attached compliance card needs to be filled out and returned to Mooney Aviation Company upon completion of this Service Bulletin M20--313A."
  15. Rob, Does page 10 of the 65C POH help? I'm not sure how my deflectors are set. (Please excuse the typos) "Cabin heat is obtained from a muff which surrounds the engine exhaust manifold. From this muff, a flexible duct transmits heated air to a junction box on the aft side of the firewall on the copilot's side. Cool air is also ducted to this junction box from the flush air scoop on the right side of the plane. The warm and cool air entering the junction box can be individually controlled to provide the combination required for the desired temperature. From the junction box, air is ducted to the pilot and copilot's feet, windsheild defroster, rear passengers' feet, and to the baggage compartment. Deflectors are provided on the pilot and copilot outlets which can be used to direct the air flow in the desired direction or to provide individual volume controls. When these deflectors are in the neutral or "off" position, the air flow is forced to the windshield defrosters and to the aft outlets. " Jared 65 C
  16. I've seen some used servos on ebay for more than a fresh yellow tagged unit direct from the factory. Same with Brittain installation manuals. Brittain sends them out for free. There are some bargains as well. However, my A&P would not accept an ebay part w/o a yellow tag from the factory. You can test all 4 servos easily with a T connector and a pressure gauge. I ended up replacing all 4 as 3 of them had some leaks. It was < 500 for the servo exchange. I also sent in my gryo for a an IRAN. It had been a while on the gyro and the leaks meant unfiltered air was going through the valve. The elevator servo is another story. As far as I know, that one is not in production at this time. There is a large backlog on those parts. I'll be bidding against Scott.
  17. Call Brittain directly @ 918 836 7701. They helped me with my servo issues. http://www.brittainautopilots.com/
  18. Check here: http://www.alphaaviation.com/Mooney.html
  19. http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6051814/description.html ref: "Various safety measures were proposed to insure against malfunction and possible fire in such lighters. In U.S. Pat. No. 3,532,849 a second bimetallic member was for the first time introduced and arranged in the circuit so as to intentionally short-circuit the lighter and cause a line fuse at another location to blow out, usually such other location being a fuse block for the various car circuits."
  20. Nice pilot side panel. Do you know who supplied the new panel? LASAR?
  21. Just stating what is in the Prop manual. Not picking a side. pg 1-5 (37) "Never attempt to move the aircraft by pulling on the propeller."
  22. Here is what is on my 65C. Let me know if you want more/better photos.
  23. http://www.airmodsflightcenter.com/flight/rental-and-instruction-rates Not sure they still have a C. Worth a call.
  24. For what it is worth the original socket was a standard automotive cigar lighter on a 65 C. I believe, but have not verified, the fuse on the back of the socket provides thermal protection as well as current limiting. If you replace/use an automative socket, be careful about the thermal protection circuit. The parts I saw had a bimetalic strip which creates a direct short when the socket gets too hot.
  25. I think the '66 models have a different pull shape.
