  1. Does it have the frequencies on the bottom of the switch like the amazon picture?
  2. Removed link to gate openner as original product works fine in us, despite bad picture on amazon site. Thanks to JasonW: Att/T-mobile sim: 29.00 + 25 http://www.alarmsim.com/
  3. The picture of the bottom of the box shows frequencies 900/1800Mhz. Who in the US uses those frequencies? The source below doesn't show one in US. It also doesn't show one in Canada. Perhaps the chart is wrong. http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html Doesn't look like it will work with T-Mobile: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4988
  4. Seems normal for My C which has about 20 hours on a a new pump. I had to replace my suction gauge since it was inaccurate. Might want to check the gauge.
  5. WAG: Does it start when you release the key? http://www.donmaxwell.com/publications/MAPA_TEXT/Shower%20of%20Sparks/Shower%20of%20Sparks.htm
  6. Clarence, We were able to back out the broken threads using a back out bit. Luckily it was well lubricated<g> and came out easily the first try. I felt like buying a lottery ticket. I was anticipating a long profanity laced extraction period. It looks like a 6-40 screw thread to me. a, Thanks for checking that. The old one has no ball either. Regards, Jared
  7. This is an odd grease fitting. This product doesn't have a spot for the 6-40 thread check. http://www.grainger.com/product/WESTWARD-Grease-Fitting-Thread-Tester-13X066?s_pp=false&picUrl=//static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/13X066_AS01?$smthumb$ It is in the wing assembly on the IPC. The main gear connects to the block. IPC shows it as "3018 Zerk, Grease Fitting, NI" Also listed as "3018 Fitting, Grease, NI" I found it here: https://www.motionindustries.com/productDetail.jsp?sku=01291718 McMaster has them as well - thanks! http://www.mcmaster.com/#1095k86/=zopxop
  8. Hi, Anyone have a good source for a grease fitting? 6-40 UNF-2A STRAIGHT SAE Number is H-640. Alemite is 3018. It has a tiny #6-40 thread post. It broke when pulling the grease gun off. Thanks!
  9. Hi, Anyone know the closest mechanic with travel boards? I need to check my flaps. After the flap splice plate was installed, the plane pulls to the left in cruise and landing. The left flap is higher than the aileron in cruise. It used to be flush (as far as I can remember)
  10. Thanks again. I don't see how one rigid line is going to fit. Any issues using two relatively straight lines with a 90 elbow?
  11. Thanks. What AL material and wall thickness is best?
  12. Thanks for the replies. The lines may be original. It may be time.<g> The break is not in an easy to access area. The AP wanted to investigate a flexible hose solution vs Al tubing. Any thoughts? I was leaning towards the Al tubing as it worked for the first 50 years. But, I have no idea if it can be installed pre-bent which was his concern. Flexible hose would go in easier but would have reduced clearances to push tubes.
  13. Went to fly the plane and found a puddle of hydraulic fluid under the belly. As far as we can tell there is a leak in the line near a clamp point. Has anyone had to replace a brake line in the belly? How long did it take? It is part 850000-23 which just happens to be the longest line. Not sure if it can be replaced without bending it in place. Any hints for the ap?
  14. We followed Clarence's advice and it worked out well. Had to remove the rivets on the aft edge, some on the sides and supports.
  15. My 65 C came with a Casco Cigar lighter with an attached fuse in a can. The fuse is shown in the circuit diagram. Is this the resistor you are talking about? Some newer sockets have a bimetalic bar that causes a dead short if the device gets too hot. Be careful.
  16. Are we really playing a guessing game on a potential fire issue? Please tell us.
  17. Do you know anyone with a signal tracer? Just make sure the coax cables are disconnected from the radios. Something like http://amzn.com/B00APD16D2would isolate it fairly quickly.
  18. Link for Bob: http://www.avweb.com/press-releases/635.html
  19. How does it compare to the installed cost of an Aspen VFR unit? The Aspen VFR unit can be upgraded with software changes. What it the quattro path? Does the Quattro have the hardware to add heading info later?
  20. That is very interesting. What is it based on? I thought the data has an expiration date: "Valid till x". The box does talk to atomic clocks, so it knows the current date and time.
  21. Thread drift: Performance Requirements, general WAG on gps position accuracy implications. Anyone know why the FAA does not add more ground stations to ensure you have a multilateration derived position to validate the supplied GPS position? Seems like that is going to be required to identify "bad" actors anyway. Seems a shame to make a $5.00 gps receiver cost 1200.00 when it is not the sole source of position in the system. Anyone know if any system is setup to use the GPS position as given w/o validation? I think It would be a bad assumption to assume 100% of all self validated GPS position reports are accurate. What happens on foreflight et al when: on plane adsb-in receives gps position from plane X. plane X data is removed by ground stations due to position validation (radar, mlat.., ...) ground station re-broadcast does not include plane X. Anyone know the position resolution for mlat?
  22. I ran the weights and fuel given through my 65C chart. It looks OK to me. It is right near max weight on my plane. Got any details on how to identify tubes installed incorrectly? PS I think you left fuel out of your text, but included it in the GW. PPS 52 gals would be over weight on my plane
  23. Interesting article - hope it is true. http://www.avweb.com/blogs/insider/AEA-Google-to-the-Rescue-on-ADS-B-223824-1.html
  24. I thought only Mode S had an unique serial number. Mode C sends baro and squawk code. If every transponder had a unique id I'm not sure why we would need another temporary unique squawk code.
  25. 3.8K hours. I think I'll order up the new style tube + bearings. Thanks
