  1. duplicate deleted - sorry
  2. Did you install the vibration sensor?
  3. Air Mods adjusted the flaps and flight controls on my 65 m20c during the last annual. I'm very happy with the results.
  4. Does anyone know if the holes are on a 65 C?
  5. I thought those rescue type hammers were for saftey glass. One good hit and the glass will shatter due to the stress added during manufacturing. Plexiglass, in my very limited experience, is not so easy to break.
  6. It's another demonstration that a steel tube structure is nice to have on a plane. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to put something in the plane to help me break a .25" plexiglass(?) window (is it 2 x .125?)
  7. The pilot of this plane was OK. One of the articles states they tried the main door then broke a weakened plexiglass window to pull the pilot out. I don't think a baggage door exit would have made a difference on this accident. http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2011/10/mooney-m20-aircraft-on-takeoff-crashes.html Has anyone kicked out a window on a Mooney?
  8. I showed a m20L and a early m20C baggage latch design in the earlier post. Sorry to confuse the issue. Does anyone have a baggage door diagram of the later C models (m20C serial 20-1240+) with an internal release handle from the factory? The previous owner mentioned the plane was re-keyed. I can't find a log entry. I wonder if I have a bad lock or a newer design that forces the door to be locked? I would like to investigate having the later M20C baggage door with internal release handle installed on my plane. Any suggestions?
  9. My lock must be keyed differently. I can not remove the key unless it is locked. Attached are 2 versions of the baggage door latch mechanism. I don't have one that shows the C with an interior release on m20C serial 20-1240+. Anyone have that diagram?
  10. My 65C is keyed in such a way that I can not remove the key unless the baggasge door is locked. The POH for later C models has this line: "Effective S/N 20-1240 & ON, if desired for any reason, the baggage door can be opened from the inside even though locked." Does anyone have the parts manual for serial 20-1240 & ON? Can you share the Baggage door details?
  11. re: vise grips I love the wording of Mooney Service Instruction 20-39 from 1976. http://www.mooney.com/images/pdfs/si-pdf/sim20-39.pdf "There have been instances where the roll pin retaining the interior cabin door handle has sheared, leaving egress from the aircraft to the ingenuity of the pilot" I looked at the baggage door modification. It requires flying with the baggage door unlocked. Mine is keyed so it has to be locked. I seem to recall some GA accidents were caused by an open baggage door. Has anyone used a hammer and/or a hatchet to cut through acrylic or aluminum?
  12. Do you know what issue has the rigging article?
  13. I wonder what happened to this plane? http://www.ntsb.gov/NTSB/brief.asp?ev_id=20110223X03211&key=1 On February 23, 2011, about 0900 mountain standard time, a Mooney M20F, N891X, departed the runway after the nose landing gear collapsed during the landing roll out at Nephi Municipal Airport (U14), Nephi, Utah.
  14. I've had repair work performed by AirMods. They re-skinned and painted my '65 M20C rudder. The rudder repair was excellent.
