  1. Looks like I am going to install one or both of these in a couple of Bravos in the near future. For anyone that has done it, can you share with me the setup sheet that you used to set all the parameters? I did it once on an MVP-50P for an Encore and it about drove me nuts. Hoping someone who has done the installs on the Bravo can help me keep my hair on my scalp. Also, anybody have a good working strip of Bravo Moritz gauges they want to part with? Anyone figured out how to repair the backlighting on the digital part of the gauge? Thanks, Jimmy
  2. Do these aircraft not have an override of the pusher?
  3. Heading out on a 6 day swing to pick up some new inventory. I can get you info on what I have when I get back
  4. Thanks. Let me know. Not in a huge hurry.
  5. I have several good KN-64's sitting on my desk.
  6. Let me know if you have one sitting on your desk. Jimmy
  7. The bottles I have at my place are 4/18. Not sure if his are the same batch or not. I can find out.
  8. Edit 10/10/2019. Just ordered some new oxygen bottles. New manufactured $1,550 plus shipping. New Surplus manufactured 5/2017, $1,250 plus shipping (you will lose 2.5 years of bottle life and hydro will need to be done 5/22 vs. sometime in 2024). Regular price over $1,750. Thanks, Jimmy Edit 5/20/2020. I just ordered a new batch of bottles. Two options: 1) bottle MFG date of 6/2019 (so has 14 years life left): $1,450 plus shipping (and sales taxes if you live in TX). 2) bottle MFG date of 11/2017 (so has a little less than 12.5 years life left): $1,225. Retail on the bottles is now $1,872 Best way to reach me is email: jimmy@allamericanaircraft.com or jimmy@gmaxamericanaircraft.com

  10. I certainly agree. Other than fighting Bluebook, Vref, Lenders, pre-programmed buyers, mechanics and about 60 years of history in aircraft valuation that take year/model into account as the first line of setting values, you are 100% right. And the result is that you fight a losing battle when trying to get real value out of a plane that is so far from the average like yours is. I would be proud to own a plane like yours. And as a buyer and given a fixed budget, I would certainly weigh your plane against much later, lesser equipped models. However, if I am not a cash buyer, I may have to toss your plane out of the mix due to not being able to finance it. You may remember that was the trigger to my madness of starting this project.
  11. Its in the guide. There is some value I assign to LEDs
  12. BINGO!!! My point from the start. The are not using a market based approach to arrive at value. Because they don't have market data with which to use. There were a few a while back that questioned my knowledge of values in the market and basically said that my sample size was too small to be meaningful. I'm no perfect. No, not by any stretch of the imagination. But when my ass is on the line to figure out what a plane will sell for (either by advise to a seller on brokerage or by what I am willing to invest in a plane to make a return), you can be sure that I have done my research on the value. And the process I use is laid out in the guide. The whole Aircraft Guide and Aircraft Appraisal business is all over the place with respect to values. And the sad part is that many thousand dollar decisions are being made based on inaccurate and sometimes just ridiculously wrong info.
  13. Pretty sure that his beef is that the plane is worth more than $90,000 (I 100% agree) but that a 'professional' appraiser charged him $500 for a worthless piece of paper that valued the plane well below marketable value. I have done several appraisals (although I call them Market assessments) in the past year for under $300 each and I can guarantee they were way more accurate than what you will get from a NAAA appraiser. And that, my friends, is why I started this project in the first place...
  14. I don't think so. Send me an email and I will include it in the addendum. Short answer is that so few understand what it is that there will not be a great 'Oohhh;' factor that will lead to extra value. There are a handful of upgrades that are the same. Add some marketing pizzaz but they don't bump the marketable value of the plane.
  15. It will be covered in the addendum that will be out in a week or so.
  16. Hello Mooney Friends. I just completed 23 pages of value information for those shopping, considering selling or just interested in the values of the Mooney Pre-201 models. I plan on moving to other models soon but at the rate I am going, it may be a little while. But look for M20J and M20K in the not too distant future. I am not charging for the guide but I do ask for some contact info in advance of sending it out in PDF form. If you would like a copy, please email me at jimmy @ allamericanaircraft dot com and let me know you would like a copy. I keep some fairly extensive databases at All American and the info I would like is: Name Email address Phone contact If Owner, The tail number Reason for requesting guide: i.e. Planning on Buying, Planning on Selling, May sell one day, I'm just a Mooney Junkie and need a fix, etc... There are some other requests within the Guide itself, but the info above helps me keep up with some of the goings on in the market. Also, I just finished it up this morning after working on it all night (literally) last night. So once you guys get it, I am open to hearing critique in either form or substance. It won't hurt my feelings. Also let me know if I have missed anything. I am sure I have. Email me and I will try to get back with you as soon as possible. Thanks, Jimmy

  18. Got it... Thanks Bryan!!
  19. Anyone know where I can get one?
  20. I have not listed it yet. Have a few inquiries based on this posting. I don't even have a spec sheet completed on it yet. I need to figure out what I have first then I will start the process in earnest. You guys have been a big help so far. Thanks to all!
  21. Thanks. I will go over there today and take a look!
  22. Thanks for all the advise. I will make some calls tomorrow. Since I own it, I am only interested in the bottom line. My preference is still to take a nice Mooney on trade, but, hey, cash is good. This aircraft appears to be in very good shape, mechanically and cosmetically. 1979 model. Probably a 180-185K plane. 530W with GTX-345. Strikefinder. KFC-200. Good Paint. Two year old cloth interior. TT just over 5000. Engine about 950. Near zero oil consumption. All compressions over 70 (at Maxwell's yesterday). Again, thanks for giving me the ideas on Neal and BT.
  23. Guys and Girls, Apologies in advance for the blasphemy... I just took a nice Bonanza A-36 with a Turbo Normalizer on it on trade for a later model Mooney. My preference would now be to turn it back into a Mooney for inventory. If anyone is looking for a bump to six seats / large cabin door and wants to talk Mooney trade or if you know a Mooney owner that may want to make the move, can you send them my way? Thanks, Jimmy jimmy@allamericanaircraft.com
  24. Just to make things 100% clear, the shop on the field is not 'my guy'. I got out of maintenance in 2001 and I have been a happier man ever since. Fisher is the local guy that is being referred to and he is 100% independent. He even told me to take some of my work somewhere else last week because he didn't have time for me. He takes care of my personal plane and quite a few other local area Mooney guys because he does know Mooneys better than most anyone else in the immediate area and for me personally, I can corner him to figure something out when I have a problem. I recommend him along with some other shops in the area because I know he knows the Mooney airframe. I also recommend him because I can stay on top of getting everything completed. If there is a major item discovered early, I can be there immediately to inspect and alert all parties of the issue. That being said, I normally don't deny taking planes to other places, within reason. I refused a Weber prebuy last week. It didn't make sense in that case and outside of a few instances I can think of, it probably never makes sense to take plane 1000nm away. There is a cost in going to the other places. Some costs are not so much, some are fairly expensive. I have to hire a pilot, sometimes two. I have to get the first pilot back to home base (chase plane <i.e. the reason for the second pilot> or airline ticket) and then reverse the process. I don't generally argue the findings of airworthiness with any of the folks around that know Mooneys. Sometimes I do question some stuff if I get the feeling that they are just winging it. And I do have a few shops that I will not darken their doorstep. I also welcome buyers to bring their mechanics in to our place if they want to. But I don't have a guy.
