  1. Quote: philipneeper so the lasar cowling closes the gap so it equals the air flow thru the cowling instead of out and around?
  2. I wonder what's so different about the E and F but doesn't effect the J? Is it the engine or the cowling?

  8. Quote: Sabremech I checked the price for the windshield on SWTA's website and $440 seems a little steep to me. Any thoughts?
  9. Oooo... Not good. However, does the prop perform as well as expected? It seems like one of the best props money can buy on paper anyways. If you like it, I would chaulk this up to the price of being an early adopter. I'm sure Hartzel will make it right in the end. On the other hand, if the prop is kind of lame, well then, that's another story...
  10. Hi and welcome to the board! I too have been looking for a Mooney and this one is close to what I'm buying. I think in your case, I would evalute how important avionics are to you. In my case, they are very important, but to others it seems much less so. If it were me personally, I would pursue this plane a little further. That's a really nice panel. That costs a lot to duplicate. If the panel doesn't matter that much to you, move on. There are a lot of good Fs and Es out there right now with goofy panels but other nice features.

  12. Congratulations on Mooney ownership! Soon I hope to join you. When it comes time to do the windshield, I would seriously give some thought to the Southwest Texas Aviation 201 mod because it offers two little access panels on the cowling for servicing the avionics. I have seen both the LASAR and SWTA version and both are good, but the access panels seem pretty useful to me. If I had the choice, I would go SWTA. The airplane I am endevouring to buy already has the LASAR on it and I'm fine with it though. You'll be good either way. By the way, what are those radios in your panel? I don't recognise them.
  13. So two things I want to fix right away on the F I'm buying is the lack of sholder belts and the door lock. Anybody have experience with the Alpha inertial seat belts? These seem pretty nice and easy to install. Alpha Belts Also any ideas on a quality door lock? As always, thanks for the help!
  14. Here's some pictures. There are more in my gallery.
