  2. Don't let common sense get in your way boys , I the POH are directions for weighing the plane , If this is an issue Seth , I have access to a set of scales......
  3. I just sold one to Dan , He is a very experienced guy and pretty straight forward , These plains are very big , and very fast , You will need to have an IR , lots of time , Cessna time , and special training , probably yearly training for insurance , Handles like a giant 172 , great plane , As far as the systems , you will need a shop that is familiar with these planes... The spar carry through inspection , is looming , but if it is a clean airframe , and a later model , you will be good , I don't think any of the pressurized models will need much more than the inspection , as they are only from 78 on , As far as your wife , Once she gets in this plane , she will never get back into a Mooney , It is huge , comfortable , and pressurized , Dan is the expert on these aircraft , and almost all of them , have been to Dan ...
  4. And to be equally clear , if you put the beacon on a 172 , and don't balance the rudder , you can create a situation of flutter , and you have not maintained the aircraft to the manufacturers maintenance manuals … The rudder has to be rebalanced regardless of STC or not..
  5. I don't know if the fin is a flutter issue , but I am sure balance is ,

  8. Respectfully , the weight being pretty close , doesn't cut it , in any way shape or form , nor does lucking out in a flight test , In the service manuals , repainting a control surface REQUIRES rebalancing , An IA on my field , questioned the feds , after he refused to install a tailbeacon on a Mooney , and they were not pleased with the verbiage in the uAvionics installation manual...
  9. Wrong , wrong , wrong , If you have the light in the rudder , The rudder is a PRIMARY BALANCED FLIGHT CONTROL.... you can not change the weight without removing and rebalancing the flight control , and I am not sure if you can change the aerodynamics of a PRIMARY FLIGHT CONTROL ..... You might want to reconsider who you sell these too , because the first rudder that flutters off , you will be in the liability chain...
