  1. "Any traffic in the pattern (or area), please advise".
  2. Wonder if that bug can log second in command time.
  3. Quote: Awful_Charlie ....might be worth putting a dehumidifier in the aircraft when you park it up and get the internals all dried out. Check your pitot and static drains too, if the fogged ASI is due to water on the inside, it has likely come in the static port, so the dehumidifier and opening the alternate static will help to reduce it, but the damage may already have been done. 5. Quote: Parker_Woodruff that's wonderful...I searched N252BH and my name comes up with some drug references. :-/

  7. Quote: PilotDerek Well said! We should never fool ourselves into thinking there is nothing left to learn.
  8. Good point....and with my experimental buddies, any accident that isn't fatal has a MUCH lower chance of being reported to the FAA or NTSB.
  9. ForeFlight Mobile 4.2 with XM WX, TFR Overlays, AIRMETs, PIREPs.....anyone download it yet, and if so any issues?
  10. Good question. I replaced them many years ago and it was a pain in the butt. Like many repairs on a Mooney, long tin arms are a plus. Good luck.
  11. Congrats on a major accomplishment. It opens an entire new world of flying possibilities for you in that Missile. Do I understand correctly that an examiner came up from FL for you?
  12. Quote: carusoam Knowledge is power. The more you know, the better off you will be. Whether it is a Savvy seminar, APS seminar, MAPA seminar, AOPA seminar, reading on your own, learning from other's mistakes, learning from people on MooneySpace, or my favorite, working with your mechanic at whatever level you are a capable of. Learn as much as you can. This way you can decipher is someone is telling you something that is not right for you. Amen....and it takes time and good judgment. If you're not working with the mechanic be looking over his shoulder, asking questions, and maybe paying for his extra time. As the many opinions on this site prove, there are no gurus or absolute correct answers. Read, learn, study, question, analyze, listen, and don't skimp.
  13. Quote: carusoam Go make it happen. Tell us about your PPI plans.... Excellent advise from Anthony, and what I was trying to say The longer you wait the older you future Mooney is getting, and pleasure delayed is pleasure lost forever.
  14. DARN...we're just having some fun, and given the lack of specificity in the title to this thread, we're not even off topic.
  15. Quote: Ashe Needless to say, I'm getting impatient. I know I've over-analyzed things, I know I should have bought in years ago (although, my budget is more in-range now than it was in 2008), but I would appreciate any input/insight here.
  16. I just changed mine, or I'd join you.
  17. Quote: Becca Very true, and a superb quote from a great president
  18. While you guys are at Don's shop please blow all the dust off Parker's plane.

  20. A320 VFR only approach/landing. Definitely VFR only. The Kingdom of Bhutan is landlocked between China and India. Runway is over 7K AGL in mountains. Fly over runway @ 4K and spiral down into a valley to fly over the river back toward the runway which can't be seen until short final - runway is about 30 degrees offset from the valley and abuts a hill which must be avoided with a banking turn until over the threshold. Short runway with hard braking, then one of those 180 degree turns on the runway hoping the main-mounts won't sink into the fringe.
  21. VFR Approach and landing only, at Paro, Bhutan in a A320

  23. Quote: AustinPynes Two different mechanics are calling for teardown and inspection.
  24. IIRC there used to be a kit that installed a hole and tube under the hat rack specifically for skies. LASAR, if anyone would know about it. BTW, good to have another Air Force fighter pilot on board -D")">
