  1. Hello there There are still a few spot in both Saturday and Sunday for Jerry Manthey's maintenance seminar in beautiful Santa Maria, CA. Come and learn from the best, meet other Mooney pilots, and support MAPA and Jerry Manthey. We are so very pleased that Jerry offered to do this seminar for us. If you want to come, call LELA at MAPA today 210-525-8008 I had a question from a potential attendee so I thought I would post the question and the answer from Jerry. The pilot asked what topics were covered and what topics were Mooney specific. I called Jerry and this is what he said: "We cover everything from the tip of the spinner to the tail light. All Mooney." Manual has 17 chapters. Seminar covers: corrosion, electrical, prop, fuel, mags, landing gear [major focus], preventative maintenance, documentation, regulations, flight surfaces, wheels, brakes, tires, ways to save money safely. At the end of class you all go to the demo airplane [or the participant who wants to] and go over all they have learned. He says he stays until all the questions are answered. There are a few more spots. Come on now, sign up. The Ambassadors are bringing strawberries for the morning!! Mitch and Jolie N6619U N211MJ
  2. We had a great time at Columbia Airport's Father's Day Fly-In. I believe we had ten Mooneys in for the fun. Since the event was turned into a one-day only event, we offered to do a Mooney formation fly-by. It was a hit with the audience. Thanks to Dave Marten, Mitch Latting and Ed Mandibles for the demonstration. It was so much fun talking to folks about Mooney and getting kids in the airplanes. Many thanks to our display aircraft owners: Ed Mandibles, Karen and Fernando Torres, and of course my Mitch. Next up is Lake in the Sky at South Lake Tahoe. We are the only service group invited specifically by event organizers. So come join the fun. August 23-25th. Shoot me a PM or email if you would like to come.
  3. The line up is great. Make sure to register, it is free! Here is the video trailer for the event: http://youtu.be/nQUA6Dz7mjg
  4. ArtCraft and the Ambassadors are getting ready to host Mooney Mechanic legend Jerry Manthey on June 21 and 22. There are still spots available for both days. This is an awesome and maybe one of the last opportunities to learn from Jerry. If you would like to attend please call MAPA to register. Telephone: (210) 525-8008 We will have donuts and strawberries in the morning, a great seminar, lecture about paint, free give aways, and lots of fun. Ambassador wear is also for sale. Who could ask for a better educational opportunity. So far we have planes coming from Tahoe to San Diego. Come one come all!

  6. You will want to get some Mooney specific training from a CFI who has many hours in a Mooney. I transitioned from a Warrior to the Mooney. The CFI I used owned a C model, so that was awesome education. Yes, join MAPA. It is our professional association, and a direct line to the Mooney factory, plus a great monthly magazine. MooneySpace is a great resource. Of course, I am biased but also become a Mooney Ambassador and help us to promote General Aviation and Support our Mooney Airplane Company. http://www.MooneyAmbassadors.com

  17. I fly into Sonoma Skypark. It is a little daunting at first, but with careful planning I just did great. A local told me that if you aren't down by the S in Sonoma you need to go round. And if there are tree branches in your landing gear you need to steepen your approach. HA I also have flown Santa Rosa and Petaluma too.
  18. Now that WeatherUnderground, Weather.Com, NOAA weather and the WeatherChannel are all in agreement, I might relax! Looks to be high 60s to 70s for our Friday and Saturday event next weekend.
