  1. Hi All I am not sure if this link will work for those who do not have facebook. Mooney has put together some cool videos, the most recent is from the Chino Airshow. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=261627830690597&set=vb.220718738114840&type=2&theater If you have a chance, click on this link and let me know if you can watch the video. It would be great to spread the word even to those not on Facebook.
  2. The Mooney Ambassadors were front and center at AOPA Indianapolis on Saturday. Here is the report from Ken Yale our point person: Today's event was a rousing success. Weather was nearly perfect - some occasional wind but nothing we couldn't handle. We had just enough supplies for everyone to take what they wanted. Ran out of the lanyards at probably about 3PM and ended the day with maybe 10 buttons and lots of stickers left. Table was staffed continuously. We took turns eating and wandering around. Our booth was positioned well and we had a continuous flow of visitors. Seems like everyone who stopped by was either a previous Mooney owner, a current Mooney owner or a future Mooney owner. All current and past owners all owned 1967 models. The most frequent topic by far was the status of the company followed closely by "what does Mooney Ambassadors do?". Craig handled both topics expertly. All in all, a fun and relaxing day out in the sun with fellow aviation enthusiasts." Next up is July 12th at Plymouth, Mass our co-point persons: Rae Willis and Candie Oldham. Are you coming to Plymouth? Please let me know. I need your name, email, model and n-number. Thank you!

  7. This is a must watch. A long story that is pro-GA and pro-airport. Horray. Way to go Mitchell Gossman and I understand Tom Lau is also trying to get all the passport stamps as well in a Mooney. http://kstp.com/article/12303/?vid=5131917&v=1
  8. I am thrilled that Mooney is back in production. Hundreds of thousands of dollars going into factory upgrades of equipment. Nearly a hundred employees back to work making the best airplane in the world!
  9. Tom, Jolie and Mooney Ambassadors: STEAM PLANT FLY IN CANCELLED Due to logistical issues at the airport, we are going to have to cancel the June 21 Steam Plant Fly In at Sumner County Regional Airport (M33) in Gallatin, TN. We appreciate your support for our event and your willingness to participate and we certainly apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. Best wishes for a great 2014 and beyond! 10. Congrats on the good outcome. You kept your wits about you and did what you are trained to do. Glad it all turned out so well
  11. I would have them fly it to Top Gun in Stockton or LASAR in Lakeport, they are both Mooney service centers
  12. Mike Miles, Mooney test pilot talks about a prop coming to a dead stop in our movie Boots on the Ground. Gave him a pucker moment when he, and Tom Bowen [now Mooney International C.O.O.] were on top of an overcast layer.
  13. May 31st, AOPA Regional/Mooney Ambassador: Indianapolis Regional Airport (MQJ), Indianapolis, Indiana.Expect a good old-fashioned day of fun. Pancake breakfast, town hall, seminars, vendors, lunch, static displays. Ambassadors will have a booth/aircraft at show central. We have space for one more display airplane. We have our two display planes, but need help with the booth, that way folks can rotate and enjoy the show. Can you help? Point Person: Ken Yale
  14. Tom Winter will be the point person on this event, so it is a go. For Mooney Space folks, please PM me your name and email address so I can get it on the roster. Ron you sound like a good possibility, that is great. Triple 8s, make sure to PM me with your name and email, maybe we can get you a ride. We will also need a canopy for the event. So if you have one we will coordinate you bringing it, or someone who is driving in. Ours fits in the E model. We have found that the canopies are a necessity and add to the "booth" feeling and help with shade too! I am glad folks are stepping forward. Horray
  15. Are there any Ambassadors who would like to take on this event?? if so, please let me know. Remember we can have one Mooney or ten! Jolie ------------------------------- Hello! And thanks for what you do to promote GA! We like to think we do our share as well, and we'd love to have you join us as we promote GA in Tennessee! Sumner County Regional Airport (M33 in Metro Nashville) will be hosting our annual Steam Plant Fly In, Aviation Expo and FMA MusicFest Saturday June 21, 2014, 8am-3pm (Exhibits open 9a). We expect a good crowd this year with added live music (coordinated by Flying Musicians Association), more food, more vendors and more advertising support. We'll also have good local and aviation press coverage and lots of free prizes and give-aways! As usual, we want to bring new people into aviation and want to show the public the variety that is out there. We'd like to invite Mooney Ambassadors to display an aircraft and present PGA Squared at the event. We'll have lots of pilots and aviation fans out that day, so this would be a nice way to not only support aviation but also meet some potential new pilots and spread the good word about the value of GA in this country. There is no cost to exhibit and we offer a fuel discount to all who fly in. Free tie down (MAYBE hangar space -first-come/first-serve) overnight if you stay. Free ground transport to/from local accommodations. Special hotel rate, plenty of food at the event, free drinks for exhibitors. Hope you can join us. Please let me know and we can discuss the particulars. It's going to be a nice show, with more to do than ever before, including speakers and workshops. With Mooney back in operation, we want to showcase one of the best GA aircraft fleets out there. Our mission is to promote and grow aviation in TN, and that means all of aviation -from jets to parachutes, so we certainly hope you can join us. We want to show the public the many benefits of GA. What better way that to show that by having your presentation? Sponsors of the event include FMA, EAA 1343, GTO Aviation, Eastern Aviation, Gallatin Economic Development Agency, Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, Trade-A-Plane, General Aviation News, Flying High Coffee Co, AvMap, Aircraft Spruce, Bose, and others. Please let us know. It's gonna be fun! (And spread the word!) Thanks! -LA ---------------------------------------- Leonard Assante Steam Plant Fly In Planning Committee leonard.assante@gmail.com about.me/lassante 615-512-6297
  16. Welcome to our Mooney family. You should join MAPA and stay active on this board. We all have a lot of fun and love flying our airplanes. Congrats and welcome
  17. Display planes need to be in place Thursday afternoon or Friday morning before the event. Point Person: Ken Yale
  18. Just off the phone with Bucko. It sounds like a fabulous day in San Marcos for the AOPA event. Although the morning overcast kept VFR arrivals at bay, Bucko estimated 250 plus airplanes and 2000 attendees. The Mooney Ambassador display was the only one that featured airplanes that were available for entry. Both Lacee and Bucko had their airplanes open and kids and grown ups enjoyed coming inside and learning about Mooneys. As well, it seems that our display was one of the only ones that had an activity for children, so we a hit that way too. A big thank you to Lacee and Bucko for stepping up to be point on this display. You both made a huge difference. Think about all those smiles you produced! Way to go. Onward to Indy on May 31st....
  19. Here is one of the photos of the Ambassador display at San Marcos. Looks like the weather didn't cooperate all that much!
  20. Welcome back! I would also suggest checking out the classified ads in the MAPA Log. It is well worth it to re-start your membership. Good luck in your search!
  21. This is going to be a super fun show. If you are in CA, AZ, OR or NV you and have a Mooney you are within striking distance. Come on!
  22. We have been working with AOPA for months on our Ambassador displays at these events. As you may know, we are all volunteers so it was because of Bucko's ability to get his airplane into place on Thursday that we have the primo position. Lacee arrived yesterday as well and the RC model will sure to be a hit. These regional fly-ins will be a great way to spread the love about Mooney and hopefully meet other Mooniacs. Next up is Indianapolis on May 31st. Any Mooney drivers who want to participate in Indy let me know. Have fun in San Marcos everyone!!
  23. So sorry to hear this news. I remember that airplane from Tahoe.
