I did read that book way back in the day. I am not sure if many of you know I am a licensed psychotherapist. So I used to have my clients read that book! The talk is about some of the structural differences in the brain which can lead to different ways of interpreting information, risk, connection and loss. I think it will be fun. We all can do a little something to help promote GA whether it be in a classroom or on an airfield.

Last year I participated in Teacher Day and it was a blast. This year I am happy to be one of the presenters at Build-a-Plane Teacher Day at OSH 14. I will be giving a presentation on the differences between the male and female brain and how educators can take these differences into account in the classroom. Hi I am having some difficulty finding planes in the northwest to attend the AOPA/Ambassador event on August 16th at Spokane WA. Here are the details: August 16th, AOPA Regional/Mooney Ambassador: Spokane Felts Field (SFF), Spokane, Wash. Point Person: TBD We need 1-2 display airplanes that can get to the event Th evening or Friday before noon. We need volunteers to help with the children’s activities and to talk about their Mooney. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the show and to promote GA. Expect a good old-fashioned day of fun. Pancake breakfast, town hall, seminars, vendors, lunch, static displays. Ambassadors will have a booth/aircraft at show central. I have one airplane right now that can get there Friday afternoon, not sure if that will be soon enough for a display airplane. Our experience has been if we are there on TH eve or FRI before noon we are in the primo spot. So, I am looking for volunteers who want to have fun, work with the kids, talk Mooney, enjoy the show.

I have about 15 hours of IFR training in my E model. I love it compared to the few hours of training I have in our Ovation. The E is a simpler format, lighter airplane and in my opinion a perfect IFR platform.

Yes Bonal, we have 6-10 Mooneys planning on attending the Father's Day fly-in at O22, Columbia, CA next weekend. We should have one or two big Mooneys plus the Mite on display. The rest park over in the campground area. Mooney Camp will be set on Thursday evening. The Moo Pool will be in place for our young and young-at-heart visitors on Saturday and Sunday. The Mooney Ambassadors were front and center at AOPA Indianapolis on Saturday. Here is the report from Ken Yale our point person: Today's event was a rousing success. Weather was nearly perfect - some occasional wind but nothing we couldn't handle. We had just enough supplies for everyone to take what they wanted. Ran out of the lanyards at probably about 3PM and ended the day with maybe 10 buttons and lots of stickers left. Table was staffed continuously. We took turns eating and wandering around. Our booth was positioned well and we had a continuous flow of visitors. Seems like everyone who stopped by was either a previous Mooney owner, a current Mooney owner or a future Mooney owner. All current and past owners all owned 1967 models. The most frequent topic by far was the status of the company followed closely by "what does Mooney Ambassadors do?". Craig handled both topics expertly. All in all, a fun and relaxing day out in the sun with fellow aviation enthusiasts." So if you have one we will coordinate you bringing it, or someone who is driving in. Ours fits in the E model. We have found that the canopies are a necessity and add to the "booth" feeling and help with shade too! I am glad folks are stepping forward. Horray

Sumner County Regional Airport (M33 in Metro Nashville) will be hosting our annual Steam Plant Fly In, Aviation Expo and FMA MusicFest Saturday June 21, 2014, 8am-3pm (Exhibits open 9a). We expect a good crowd this year with added live music (coordinated by Flying Musicians Association), more food, more vendors and more advertising support. We'll also have good local and aviation press coverage and lots of free prizes and give-aways! As usual, we want to bring new people into aviation and want to show the public the variety that is out there.
