  1. Avidyne is one of the Aspen "connected panel" partners - so I would say so. For this reason I am only looking at Avidyne or Bendix for my next GPS. Migrating away from Garmin whenever possible.
  2. Yeah, this petition echoes the AOPA standpoint that they would rather see fuel tax than user fees. Fuel tax could be lowered at some point. If they get a user fee program setup this will never go away and only bloat and swell as the government does with any of their programs.
  3. For the love of General Aviation, sign this please! https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/take-aviation-user-fees-table/Mtjk9lM3
  4. I really like my Rosen visors.
  5. Hello all, I got a request today from a member asking for a forum just for Bravo's. The member mentioned that they have more specific maintenance (oil cooled heads, etc) and should have their own category. Please vote in the attached poll to let me know what you think. Thanks!
  6. Sorry, at this time the site is not working with mobile devices for entering text. These editor boxes use DHTML which is not really supported on mobile stuff. What I need to do is alter the code to show just a plain text box when a mobile device is detected.
  7. To add an RSS feed, it must be fed from a RSS type document (it uses basic XML). At this time we don't have an RSS feed, but this is something I will look into adding later for sure.
  8. Haha, no I think I will refrain from that upgrade. However, my next upgrades will be KSN770 and Aspen Connected Panel (when all of these products are ready that is!) - and a Turbo Normalizer at some point!
  9. We are running IIS 6.0 (a pretty new version) and I just verified that compression is not enabled. Thanks for the suggestion though!
  10. The only thing about the alterter is they are not permitted to put the beep in the headset (isn't the FAA great?!). I am often times listening to music and find that I cannot hear the dashboard speaker for the alt alert. It is easy to overshoot an altitude on a really long climb/descent...and looong climbs are pretty normal out here in the mountains with a NA engine! I like the pure software solution Aspen is doing for the Stec-55X - but knowing Aspen it might be 2 years until we see this.
  11. Peter could chime in here but my understanding is that Aspen is working on building this into the PFD1000 but I don't know what the ETA is or costs. PM heading your way!

    NM->WA Trip

    Pictures of our trip to WA from NM with a stop in OR.
  13. Craig, I did see your nice Mooney parked in Oshkosh, was hoping to meet you. Your plane and panel is certainly a model for all of us aspire to. I will stay with Garmin mainly cause it's paid for. As I progress through my learning curve, I'm sure there will be many things I will change if I do this again. I did choose the MVP-50 primarily because I got better service, and I did ask for the remote display sadly EI don't have it. I will be attempting to move my MVP-50 to the center stack or to the left of the G500. I will also add a Glideslope indicator if possible, more for my own comfort level than any thing else plus I will have a back up nav if the 500 ever goes black. Ah, I saw the EDM930 in your mock up so I assumed that was what you were using. I agree on the service with JPI - I hear nothing but bad things about them. Luckily I have not had to work with them so far, so I cannot personally back this up. My shop installs far more EI MVP-50's for this very reason though. I got your business card in my tent at OSH and called it a few times at the show - I think I left a voicemail too. Perhaps next year or at another fly-in! I was getting close to replacing my GNS430W with a GTN650 but you know - I have played with the one at my shop and while it looks great - it is oddly lagging - like you go to type in a bunch of letters quickly and it gets laggy and backed up - like it has either too weak of a CPU or perhaps the code is not as efficient as it could be (hopefully this is the case since it would be easier to patch the software!). Then when I saw the Connected Panel stuff at OSH I am now leaning towards the KSN770 beacuse it will be amazing to hit one button in ForeFlight and have my entire flight plan beamed into my panel - drool
