  1. I have FCIII retreads from Wilkerson on the 71E. Great tires!!
  2. Thank you for defining "prime" as 45 rather than, say, 32!
  3. I like this. Sometimes happens in an unfamiliar environment or circumstance, and definitely a good trigger to at least step back and evaluate.
  4. Call Terry McKenna at United Flight Services out of KWVI
  5. Not bad, especially after a claim. Mine is in the general vicinity of $3200 with 150K hull value and 250/2500 deductible. I have same hours as you, and the plane is hangared. No IR tho.
  6. My personal minima have definitely morphed with time, notably to allow for SVFR departures. I have a separate checklist and PM for mountain flying, which is much more restrictive than normal day VFR.
  7. United is a very well known and respected shop with deep Mooney experience. Look them up on Google Maps and you'll see almost exclusively Mooneys parked around their hangar. Terry is recommended by no other than the MSC that start with LA and ends with AR. There are indeed reseal-only shops, but their wait lists are years long (ask me how I know), and the OP's plane is not going to last that long with seals dissolving in real time.
  8. Well said Sir, well said!!
  9. Been noticing intermittent charge recently. The alternator appears to function properly during most of the flight, but sometimes would not kick in until main battery charge drops to 11.7V - but never lower than that. Last image for comparison shows an actual failure of a charging system due to a separation of the field wire in flight, where the main battery keeps discharging towards 10V. This seems not to be happening in the scenario above. Thoughts?
  10. Nutty and bolty, too ))
  11. I have counted 93 different kinds of screws, 70 kinds of bolts (5 proprietary), and 51 kinds of nuts (4 proprietary) in my AF parts catalog. Al Mooney was a freak.
  12. Never heard of those things, thank you! I just use a Dremel tool to tear 'em a new one...
  13. I manage to squeeze this lil' guy in: https://www.amazon.com/Capri-Tools-Stubby-Impact-Socket/dp/B097Z9CB3L?th=1
  14. Does anyone happen to have the compendium of all SAE socket sizes required for M20 servicing, e.g. annual inspection or a comprehensive pre-buy?
  15. I am curious about the rather massive fluctuations in detected calcium. Are you switching oils and additives?
  16. Very nice!! I use a similar system, but with my favorite six recurrent ADs added to the Inspection/Overhaul Tracker tab.
  17. I toss any paperwork related to equipment no longer installed on the plane, but that's about it.
  18. Oh yeah, definitely. Those things are my backup solution to get below 10,000 in case the concentrator fails. Won't do me much good over the Rockies, but I hear all battery-operated devices get +2 resilience and +2 mana over mountainous terrain by default..
  19. John Deakin, 1999: "When lead is needed, there is NO known practical (chemical) substitute, and none is likely to be found. The big petroleum companies have MAJOR reasons to find a fix (cost), and they and the FAA have been searching and experimenting very hard for nearly 10 years, at great expense. With no results. I've been to a lot of seminars where representatives from the petroleum companies stand up and expound for an hour, when they could have saved a lot of time by standing up and simply saying, "There has been no progress in this area," and sitting down again."
  20. I have cut the tubing to remove most of the slack and added this splitter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09K45R3J5 Works great for me and the passenger, mostly at setting 4 or 5, sometimes switching to MAX when my workload increases. Not tested above 17,500 ft. I think being a concentrator it will most likely not work in flight levels where the initial oxygen levels are very low. The unit lives in the passenger's footwell. I decided against connecting the concentrator to ship power and use two large batteries instead. One battery is more than sufficient for a 4-5 hour flight.
  21. Thanks, this is helpful! So MAPA and MSF are the same entity then?
  22. Don't even know which one is the worst scenario )
  23. Nah, the printout was in the back seat of my plane when I picked it up from the broker.
  24. The curriculum looks pretty generic, tbh. What am I missing? Is this program in any way related to MAPA PPP? I have a beat up copy of MAPA PPP training manual, which is actually amazing.
  25. Thank you. Appreciate the truly gargantuan effort!
