  1. Well, Starlink just made the decision very easy. We have Starlink at home, just received an email telling us because we do, we get a mini for free and when using roaming, 1/2 price on the monthly fee. No requirements for anything other than the low use $5/ mth fee and can roam whenever and for however long we choose. Terms are the mini is a rental at no cost so I won’t own the unit. I rather like this format, should allow for future upgrade at an overall lower cost than buying initially.
  2. Beautiful plane, welcome to the club!
  3. Was getting ready to renew SiriusXM Aviation and it occurred to me perhaps Starlink would be a better way to go. Would get both weather access and general internet use. Wouldn’t get the weather rendered on the GTN 750 but would still have IPad. Would also have access to SiriusXM audio channels via my phone app and the Starlink. Overall seems it would be significantly less expensive with broader application. What am I missing?
  4. I have the 450B - the IntelliAudio is quite useful for me. I split it with Comm 1 in my left ear and Comm 2 in my right.
  5. ForeFlight’s answer feels like a rushed out panic reaction to Garmin’s SmartCharts….kind of an “Oh sh**!!
  6. My initial thought - to my eye way too much going on to consider it simplifying.
  7. Where did you find the screw in bulb holder? I have been looking with our luck.
  8. IO360-a3b6d roller tappets Case had about 500 hours, serviced through Divco. Crank and rod bearings. Crank needed no work Don’t have the case s/n available. Builder says “It is the latest bearing design” Primary reason for the post it to see if the story in my original post is true or a line of BS.
  9. A3B6D has been out for 2 1/2 years - long story, fretted case, corrosion throughout, etc, etc, etc. I’m now being told the German manufacturer of bearings stopped making them and none can be found. New manufacturer in FAA approval process. I have searched for information on this and find nothing. Anyone have any info or is it a line of BS I’m getting?
  10. Definitely need to include both inside and outside mix. I would also have a camera focused more closely on the map so the viewer can following along. I’m sure you already know you need to find a way to eliminate the load buzz in the audio. We watch a lot of YouTube videos and the ones we enjoy most show the outside more than the instruments and then a narration by the videographer including interesting information about the flight and the plane, along with the radio work. Keep it up!
  11. Dang - not what one wants to see in those pics! Hope the OH goes quickly and well.
  12. POH for my 1977 show below 135 kts. Serial #253
  13. I have the mini 6 with 256gb. I run both ForeFlight and Garmin Pilot and still have 174gb available. Can’t imagine filling it for quite sometime. I also use the Apple Pencil and love it.
  14. This didn’t happen without pictures
  15. Only thing I was thinking she could have done is told her dad to go to sterile cockpit - he was telling her what to do and seemed to cause a lot more stress than was necessary.
  16. You got your extra bladders installed? If so mind me asking total cost - you can PM if you like. May be an investment down the line….
  17. Careful here everyone - I received the following from someone who is not ZuluZulu:
  18. I’d take the glare shield light assembly - sent a PM
  19. In the MicroKit instructions, it actually says a breaker or a switched input in the audio panel. I connected mine to the unused switchable ADF (which I’m relabeled as LHS) on my 450b. Works like a charm. And for what it’s worth, I installed (under supervision) the entire unit myself in about 5 hours - would have been shorter but this was the first time I had removed side panels and glareshield. It’s really not a difficult job.
  20. They are tough to find right now - took me 8 months, hopefully things have loosened up. Best of luck.
  21. Premier in Troutdale, OR
