  1. So here is the conclusion. Removed, cleaned and lubricated. Both now deploy and retract normally. I do not think this has been done in years. I will now do this annually.
  2. So after reading this entire thread…mine need, clean and lube, rebuild, or cam adjustment. I think clean and lube is a good start. Previous flight, SB worked perfectly. Day of issue I flew from KGPM (Grand Prairie, just south of DFW) to 99V (Crawford Airpark CO). Plane was at KGPM for 3 days. First night it rained cats and dogs and when I went to depart there was a layer of dirt on my plane. Started at 8k, +2 hours 10k, +3 12k, +3.5 16k for crossing the Rockies. While level at 16k +15min I look out to the right and see this. Right SB deployed about 1/4 inch. I attempted deploying SB, no joy on both. They did not work in the descent but then deployed after landing. The right would not stow completely but upon shutdown, stowed completely.
  3. I have GTX650XI with GFC500. After TO you have to activate or engage NAV mode. During pre-flight, make sure your GTN/Menu/OBS/GPS Not Nav 1 or LOC. Highly recommend Garmin GTN trainer for iPad.
  4. My yoke mount broke yesterday. Looking for tried and true solutions. Can be yoke or other as long as it works in the Mooney cockpit. Mine is an Ovation. Tell me what is working for you.
  5. Where did you land? Elevation? Temperature? Density Altitude?
  6. So Good! KGXY-KPNS Greeley-Pensacola including a beach fly by. Probably added 20 minutes. 6 hours. I stayed at 11,000 the entire way.
  7. Just did a full panel this year on my Mooneysaurus. Big smiles every time I fly. Here is the link.
  8. I own a 1997 M20R with factory air. Just did the full panel with the GFC500. Works great! see the blog with pics and info.
  9. Sorry I have no idea. I paid AATG to do it all. I just picked the powder color.
  10. So I waited to respond to this one till I dug deeper into the configuration setup and the manual. Yes it has the “Blue Range” that was on the original EGT. Because the G3X and Garmin EIS are certified and the original has the Blue, the Garmin has it also. Reference 2 pics. It shows on both expanded and compact modes. I tend not to use it and lean based on FF and CHT.
  11. Are you asking software version on the G3X’s or GTN’s? What ever is the latest.
  12. Goto love the new Tech. After getting squaks addressed in KFHB, flew back to KPNS. Weather tried to harass my route but the situational awareness of the new technology is priceless. Helpful vector combine with Nexrad and an occasional peak out the window makes a world of difference.
  13. Yes, I can put the EIS on the MFD and remove it but I found when I flew it, its nice to have the EIS strip right there. For TO, I make the EIS big on the MFD and go full screen PFD on the pilots side.
  14. Love having it. I like the ability to throw up traffic or Wx on that display.
  15. I am a little slow on this update. There was a lot going on last week trying to learn and get comfortable with the new avionics. I flew out to AATG last Tuesday the 21st. Landon spent about 2 hours with me in 4AC going over the new panel and G3X, GTN, G5. After that we proceeded with our test flight. Everything went well with only a few minor squaks. Check paid , paper work and manuals received. I departed Wednesday the 2nd for a nice long cross country, KGXY-KPNS, non-stop. 6.0 hours, 1039.9NM, 64Gal. Plenty of time on the 6 hour flight to play with the new avionics. I have a few more squaks that will be addressed at AATG's Fernandina Beach location 1st week of April. Here is the finished product. Flight notes: 11,000, TAS160-166, 10.8-11.0GPH 50* LOP
  16. All installed and configured. New weight and balance complete. She lost 45lbs total and has a new useful load of 982lbs. That is with onboard O2 and AC. Looking at picking it up sometime next week :).
  17. Exciting news! Panel installed and first power up. AATG will start configurations, calibrations, and weight and balance beginning next week.
  18. I've been quiet while I picked out the color for the panel. Looked at many colors from different powder coat providers. Not wanting to go with the typical flat black or gray and definitely not wanting feedback from the peanut gallery, I found the color. After talking with the tech's at Prismatic Powders, I was able to to pick my color and an option for a flat clear. AATG was able to show me both without the flat clear and with. Final decision was 3 step with the flat clear. Prismatic Powders: Dragons Blood step 1, Dragons Blood step 2, Phantom Clear Etching has started in white.
  19. AATG originally said approximately 8-10 weeks. The original plan was for me to drop the plane off the first week of December 2022. Due to the harsh and early winter in Colorado, I was not able to get the plane to them until right before Christmas. Serious work did not begin on the plane until after the new year holiday. So far it has been 7-8 weeks.
  20. After looking at the full panel mock up, the pilot G3x and G5 looked low. Those are moving up 1in and the glide sw will go below the G5. Pilot USB will move up slightly also. N number will go above the G5.
