  1. Yes, I can put the EIS on the MFD and remove it but I found when I flew it, its nice to have the EIS strip right there. For TO, I make the EIS big on the MFD and go full screen PFD on the pilots side.
  2. Yes that's in the configuration settings.
  3. Love having it. I like the ability to throw up traffic or Wx on that display.
  4. I am a little slow on this update. There was a lot going on last week trying to learn and get comfortable with the new avionics. I flew out to AATG last Tuesday the 21st. Landon spent about 2 hours with me in 4AC going over the new panel and G3X, GTN, G5. After that we proceeded with our test flight. Everything went well with only a few minor squaks. Check paid , paper work and manuals received. I departed Wednesday the 2nd for a nice long cross country, KGXY-KPNS, non-stop. 6.0 hours, 1039.9NM, 64Gal. Plenty of time on the 6 hour flight to play with the new avionics. I have a few more squaks that will be addressed at AATG's Fernandina Beach location 1st week of April. Here is the finished product. Flight notes: 11,000, TAS160-166, 10.8-11.0GPH 50* LOP
  5. All installed and configured. New weight and balance complete. She lost 45lbs total and has a new useful load of 982lbs. That is with onboard O2 and AC. Looking at picking it up sometime next week :).
  6. Exciting news! Panel installed and first power up. AATG will start configurations, calibrations, and weight and balance beginning next week.
  7. I've been quiet while I picked out the color for the panel. Looked at many colors from different powder coat providers. Not wanting to go with the typical flat black or gray and definitely not wanting feedback from the peanut gallery, I found the color. After talking with the tech's at Prismatic Powders, I was able to to pick my color and an option for a flat clear. AATG was able to show me both without the flat clear and with. Final decision was 3 step with the flat clear. Prismatic Powders: Dragons Blood step 1, Dragons Blood step 2, Phantom Clear Etching has started in white.
  8. AATG originally said approximately 8-10 weeks. The original plan was for me to drop the plane off the first week of December 2022. Due to the harsh and early winter in Colorado, I was not able to get the plane to them until right before Christmas. Serious work did not begin on the plane until after the new year holiday. So far it has been 7-8 weeks.
  9. After looking at the full panel mock up, the pilot G3x and G5 looked low. Those are moving up 1in and the glide sw will go below the G5. Pilot USB will move up slightly also. N number will go above the G5.
  10. Here are the latest Pics of the panel mock up. CB panel will be redone to match the rest. Choosing a color now.
  11. At the start of the thread, I listed that a GDL50R ADSB in would be installed and the Stratus would be the ADSB out.
  12. Already have the Stratus, no reason to buy a Garmin.
  13. It’s been a while but here is the latest update. Panel design is underway. Radio stack, see picture. I fly large fast airplanes for a living and the FCP (flight control panel) is always on top, thus my decision to put the GFC500 first, below the Annunciator panel. Audio next due to the fact that when it’s below the GTN650 the knobs are too close. STARTUS at the bottom. Below will be remote Co and ELT. We lost 23.6 pound of weight just in wire!:) Every pound counts.
  14. Instillation of wire continuing. Layout of pilot panel (see picture) proceeding. Garmin Smart Glide switch will be above the G5.
  15. Got clarification, GDL50R is a remote ADSB IN, my Stratus will be the ADSB OUT.
  16. No pics this week. AP servos are in, engine sensors, CIES fuel Senders installed.
  17. Decided to go ahead with a Guardian remote CO censor. It will sync and display on the G3x.
  18. When I purchased the plane, April 2022 I did not pay much attention to those initially. When it comes back, I'll review panel and emergency configurations.
  19. Update 2.0 "We have started to install engine sensors, CHT/EGT/Oil Temp/Fuel Flow are in place ready for wiring. Autopilot servo extraction is begun and final extraction and servo installs will happen this week and next along with more of the engine sensor install and wiring. Cies senders to follow." I'm vacillating between tears of sorrow in seeing my baby torn apart and excitement for things to come and the new panel. Talked with AATG about install of a Guardian CO detector that will interface and show on the G3x, TOGA switch included with GFC500 install.
  20. Just watched a EAA webinar on the G3x (about 3 years old) and they showed how to cross fill. Looked simple.
  21. Just for kicks and grins I looked it up, FAR 91.205 (d) Instrument flight rules. For IFR flight, the following instruments and equipment are required: (1) Instruments and equipment specified in paragraph (b) of this section, and, for night flight, instruments and equipment specified in paragraph (c) of this section. (2) Two-way radio communication and navigation equipment suitable for the route to be flown.
  22. My understanding is the GDL50R is a remote ADSB transponder that will show Wx and traffic on the G3x. Stratus will remain for backup.
