  1. That’s looks like mine and I bought a replacement for the right hand one from Laser. It took a while to get it but fits fine. Another option, if you are handy, is to make a new one. Use your cracked on to pull a male mold off of. The lens material is cheap and plan on several attempts to get a good one.
  2. Did your machine shop manager see you hammering on his .028 gage pin?
  3. Sorry, they are all gone, I should have ordered more!
  4. Buy Mike Busch’s book “Engines” and read it. Excellent resource and your engine will love you!
  5. Yes, I just received them yesterday and have five available. Ended up costing $102.44 each. I’ll check the forum.
  6. Oh yeah, The tip is screwed on really tight, careful not to snap off the lever at the base.
  7. That’s it and cheaper than DigiKey or Mouser! The Honeywell PN is 1TL1-3G.
  8. If it is the same as the E it is a milspec switch you can buy from DigiKey for under $70.00. You unscrew the tip and screw on the plastic wheel. If you need the MS part number I can look it for you.
  9. My E has a 201 baggage door and I could only tell because you can faintly see the old 201 stencil on it. I didn’t know the handle was different. I was wondering what in the hell happened to the baggage door that warranted it’s replacement.
  10. There are some good write ups on this topic. Google it and you should find what you need. I had the same problem a few years ago but don’t remember exactly what I did to get it to work but I do remember finding a really good write up here.
  11. I just got an email form them and they think they will have the STC for the short bodies by Oshkosh this year. I hope they do but it’s the FAA…
  12. I used this toggle switch as well. I like it better than the old knob. It’s a switch on the dash and now I have a ppt on the yoke.
  13. Take it to a muffler shop, they will weld it for $20.00.
  14. Yeah, call Kevin, awesome resource for all things Brittain!
  15. I found a 3/8" box end in the bottom of my cowling, I was hoping for a Snap On but it was a cheep crappy made in China wrench.
  16. The locking toggle switches have a mil spec PN and are the same switch as your landing gear, provided you electric gear and not a Johnson bar. You can get them from DigiKey for around $60.00. Last year when I put my gear down the little wheel came off in my hand. I have never been so happy to see the green down light come on! LASAR didn’t have any in stock and wanted $850 to order one from someone else; I think the additional $790 was for the plastic wheel. In the response email they made the mistake of listing the MS part number. I went right to DigiKey and bought it. Just had to unscrew the wheel from the old one and replace the tip on the toggle with the new one. B&C speciality has a high quality push button starter switch that I installed in my RV8. It’s recessed in a nice stainless cup to prevent inadvertent pressing and works awesome.
  17. I had never felt a nose gear shimmy until last Friday. After landing and exiting the runway I receive taxi instructions right after hearing the ground controller give clearance to someone else to taxi the opposite direction towards me from the other end of the taxi way. This is normal procedure and they will tell each plane to taxi on the right side of the taxi way. I normally taxi between 15-20mph when the controller asked me to expedite my taxi. I obliged and got up to about 35mph and after about 15 seconds something set off the nose gear and it started a violent shimmy. I’ve had the 65 M20E for 3 years now and had never felt the slightest shimmy. Stepping on the brakes and slowing down made it go a way but it took a few seconds. Something to keep my eye on.
  18. I now have commitments for 14 and an addition 5 if the price the around the $100 mark. They are giving me quantity 25 price for 20 ($102.75 each) so I'm going to go ahead and order a qty of 20.
  19. Yes, I talked with them, he wants $200.00 each and he said the rubber was good but there is no indication how old it is.
  20. Looks like I have firm comments for a qty of 10 at the qty 10 price and 5 additional if we can get the price down to the qty 25 price of $100/each. I’ll call tomorrow and see what the price will be for 15 but I know it won’t reduce it down to $100/each. I’ll repost the why 15 price tomorrow (if they will do it over the phone). With the six week lead time (probably be more like 8 weeks) I’d like to get these on order ASAP.
  21. I received the quote yesterday and, for a quantity of 10 the cost is $150.00 each plus $250.00 materials testing fee and a $250.00 handling fee due to the dollar amount being under their $2,500.00 minimum. That would be $200.00 each plus whatever the shipping cost is. If we were to buy 25 it drops to $$93.50 each with the materials fee and no handling fee. The cost would be $103.50 each. For a qty of 50 it would drop to about $80.00 each. Of course I don’t want to order 25 or 50 and get stuck holding on to a bunch of them. It looks like there is enough interest for at least 10. I have two that need replacing, one that has a patch and the fourth one works but I wouldn’t mind replacing all of thet and have new rubber all around so, I would take four. PM me if you are interested and I’ll get a count. I’m sure they will requote for any quantity over the 10 and the price will drop. Having said all that, after my initial post, another member contacted me and has two actuators he is willing to part with but I’d like to have new rubber all around. Just to follow up, these are for the aileron and rudder actuators not the elevator or step. Scott
  22. I have the same on my E with two "strakes" running the length. I don't plan on gearup testing it!
  23. Yes it is Bellofram in WV. I’m waiting on a quote, should have it tomorrow.
  24. That is just for the rubber boot. I’ll contact the company Monday and see what they say.
  25. Yes, the elevator has two but they are larger than the aileron and rudder servos and are leak free. The B6 has pitch/altitude hold. If you count the step servo it would be 7.
