  1. SM, you asked quite a bit of good questions and I will do more digging trying to find the answers. My gear has only two position lights "Unlocked"(red) and "Locked down" (green). During the our flight the gear was in "Unlocked" up position. Turn indicator ball was centered. We seemed to be making a full RPM power on the ground. On take off, we are thinking that we were airborne just under 2,000 feet. I don't have a reason to think that the speed reading was incorrect, but worth of checking during next flight. Thank you for all of your input guess. This helps us learn!
  2. If all fails, some Mooneys come with integrated measuring stick. This spade-shaped piece reads "25 US GALs". So its tip touches the surface of 25 gals. This is my 67M20F. Thank you for your contributions, guys! It definitely helps for me to lear about my new purchase
  3. We were climbing at 108 mph.
  4. Guys, sorry for the rookie post. Definitely, I omitted some key questions in the original post. I will do better next time. Unfortunately, I don’t have an engine monitor. This is something, that I am definitely considering to invest in in the short term. At least JPI700 to get my detailed EGTs and CHTs. My rate of climb was about 250 immediately and 300-350 with the gear up. We didn’t see 500fpm until we were about 1000agl. DA = 1600 I was at Sea Level (Florida). Alt 30.08 Gross Weight: 2280 lbs Fuel: 15gal(L) 25gal(R) OAT: 85F Light Wind. I was at full power Based POH chart I should have been around 1200-1300 fpm. What are your thoughts on this?
  5. Hello, esteemed board. I looked around, but couldn't seem to find the answer. Today, my CFI and I finally flew my new(to me) 1967 M20F on its maiden flight and it felt good. However, we did noted that the climb rate was fairly sluggish. My CFI noted that the engine was giving up some vibration. My IA said that it is possible that we have fouled spark plugs, we will take a look tomorrow. It's possible that we ran the engine too rich on the ground and in the air for a little too long. What is the usual rate of climb do you usually get? It seems that my POH suggest that I should be around 1100 and 1300 feet per minute.
  6. You might want to go check the Marine Corps Memorial while there. It's less than a mile away. If you have time, travel to Quantico (about 1 hr) Marine Corps museum. In my biased opinion, its one of the best military museums, even better than Imperial War Museum in Londa I'm very much looking forward to using my PC. But my wing level rubber boots is dry cracked, so I need to replace it. I looked around this board but didn't see where anyone has done this before. Have you seen anyone posting about it previously? Regards, Yuriy
  7. Thank you! Nice to see family here. Arlington? Thats a solemn place...
  8. Thank you, Gentlemen! This answers the mail!
  9. Hello, Esteemed board! It's great to read a universe of information on this board and be a part of your community! As I began looking around my "new to me" M20F, I'm starting seeing things that I never seen before (1st time Mooney user). I pulled my yoke clock and took a look inside. I noticed two tubes, one is connected. I'm assuming that these are the controls for PC disconnect. Why only one tube is connected? I also noted two disconnected wires and wondering what they used to be connecting to? Any theories? I would love to hear your thoughts!
  10. Thank you for posting these. Does this mean that only J, K, L Mods are affected?
  11. Thats fine, I haven't put all the trim together yet. Plus I will be applying foam under trim anyways. I hope that I'm wrong and the cylinder didn't spin locked without the key from engine vibration.
  12. Thank you, Rob. I used your method to replace main door lock that had no key. I used the same lock you mentioned and I picked it up at Lowes. I inserted the old cargo hatch key and shaved off the excess from pins and then inserted the cylinder into old body. It worked great, but I think I might have shaved too much, because from the rattle of taxing the lock MAY have wobbled into lock position and locking me and co-pilot up inside the airplane, hahaha. Luckily, my wife was nearby and unlocked us. Another embarrassing story for FBO scuttlebutt. I will test this theory out again tomorrow and see if i just need. Separately, I wonder if anyone developed a method to unlock the cargo hatch from inside. It seems like a good idea to have dual egress route.
  13. You can "bench-test" my M20F at Peter O, but we can't go fly yet. Its pending ADSB and couple small things before its ready for the prime time. I'm also looking for Mooney specific CFI in Tampa, if you know anyone .
  14. Excellent! Thank you, guys!
  15. Thank you, guys. For whatever reason, I wasn't able to pull the pdf with link...Also google search didn't turn anything. Is there a way that you can either email it or attach the manual to your PM within this website? I sent you a PM
  16. I would gladly get this manual from you as well if you don't mind. I have no idea what to do with this device. I will PM you
